Dr. Melissa Leah Borthwick, MD

Well after reading the “Not so impressive” reviews I see why I’m not impressed. I have been a patient at the VA for many years. During those many years I have only had 2 primary’s . I always felt the care I received from both was superb. Above and beyond-until I was assigned Dr Borthwick. I’m relieved I read the reviews because I didn’t like feeling the way I was feeling and felt guilty about not connecting with her. So sad for the VA and its patients. I used to look forward to my visits with my doc’s at the VA. Can’t say that now!

I had Melissa for a doctor for a few years... I had an MRI - she never went over the results with me. The nurse told me the findings in passing. Also I had been under watch for my blood pressure, when I went in to see her and it was at 199/99 and she said "okay we will see you next time" I knew it was time to find a new doctor.

15 min physical? ???? No concern for me and my extreme blood pressure! Will never return! Office manager added to poor visit I was considered combattie? Frustrated and exhausted and no concern as too issues adding to this! No concern for other medical stuFF whigh is on my records?

I had her as my doctor for only one year. During that time she ordered tests without seeing me or talking to me about it.(indepth sleep study that costs in the thousands) She mis-coded my blood work & when my insurance asked that she resubmit it she refused. I ended up talking to numerous people from her office & the billing department about it because she refused to talk to me directly about it unless I booked an appointment & was charged for her time. I was told several times that it was fixed only to be billed again within weeks & then after several months I was told that it was not going to be fixed because HER office messed up & my regular physical was late. I'm disabled & when social security sent her a form to fill out for me she ignored it.When I asked about it I was never given a reason.(of course she won't call me back about it because her time is money ) Bottom line is she is VERY HUNGRY for your money but does not care too much about you as an individual

She did not followup, she did not look at my previous medical records. She did not try to help with my medical problem. She said "Right On" atleast 20 times during the 15 minute consultation
