Dr. Melissa Calderon
Dr. Melissa Calderon grew up in Memphis and graduated from Memphis State University. Her initial aspirations were to pursue a career in education. She taught high school for two years before deciding that dentistry was her true passion. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, School of Dentistry in 1993. Dr. Calderon attends a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education a year. Dr. Calderon has been practicing with American Family Dentistry since 1994. She has been married for 30 years and is the mother of two wonderful daughters. While she maintains a busy schedule, she still finds time to participate in several Memphis charitable organizations and enjoys all aspects of the performing arts.

The staff is very warm and friendly. I received the care that I’ve been searching for! I established a good rapport with Dr. Calderon and felt very comfortable with my treatment.

Every visit to see Dr. Calderon has been very satisfactory. She has an excellent team that is friendly and informative. I'm always presented with options, costs, and recommendations for my dental care. I highly recommend American Family Dentistry.

I have always been scared to go to the dentist. This office is filled with the kindest, most patient, and caring staff. They made sure that I was comfortable, that I knew what was going to happen and that I was in charge if I wanted them to stop and take a break at any time. I never had anyone so concerned about me before. I will tell all my co workers and friends to see Dr. Calderon.

Mrs. Blair White is awesome, she is always friendly and gives immaculate advice. I really enjoy speaking with her and she is very gentle with my teeth and gums. I can't say enough about the job and personality of this magnificent hygienist!

I love this dentists office. The people that work there are very caring and spend time with my whole family. They don't just rush you through. They really talk and listen to you.

I loved this dentist (seen last 8 yrs) until about a year ago when new management created billing errors and headaches for me (including sending paid bill to bill collector). I paid twice to clear my name. Total scam. Beware. Calderon, DDS in phenomenal. Her staff is terrible. Her hygenists eat donuts while you wait past your appt time (sometimes up to 2 hr). Billing is terrible. Office not clean/needs repair. Don't do it!! Hopefully Melissa Calderon, DDS will get away from AFD--if so, she is awesome! Until then, STAY AWAY!!!
