Dr. Melissa May Counihan, MD

Dr. Counihan does not come across compassionate or caring. She does not explain medical conditions well. You can get more answers from the internet. I suggest bringing in a list of written questions because she won't offer any information. I also felt very rushed and like I was an inconvenience during appointments. I didn't feel as though she examined my breasts well during a well-woman visit when she knows I have breast cancer on both sides of my family. I wouldn't recommend her. She is nice but comes across lazy. I didn't feel she was thorough. I would not be comfortable having her as my doctor for pregnancy or childbirth. I had a procedure with her and she didn't ask to see or ask about my surgical incisions at the post-op appointment. While the procedure was minor, I feel this is still falling below a standard of care that should be met. The overall experience from Dr. Counihan, to the billing, office staff, and scheduling was simply mediocre. Would not recommend.
