Dr. Melissa Camille Hennessey, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Hennessey for over 5 years. When she moved from Atrium to Tryon, there was no doubt in my mind that I would be following her. She is by far the best and most thorough primary care doctor that I have been to. Whether it is potential medicine interactions, checking me head to toe, ordering extra lab work, referring me to a specialist- she gets it done, she leaves nothing out. Dr. Hennessey has done a great job of being a medical resource as well. I have received a few referrals from her (both in and outside of the practice) and have had great experiences with them. I could not disagree more with the comments stating she was cold and not empathetic. She remembers the little bits of personal information every single visit I have with her. Now whether it is that she truly remembers or just takes good notes, both speak volumes for me. There have been a few times where she has personally followed up with me to check in. As for the prescription refill issue, I do believe… that was an Atrium problem/communication issue because since the move they have been very on top of it. I have recommended Dr. Hennessey to numerous friends and colleagues and will continue to do so.

Dr. Hennessey is the best primary care doctor (or really doctor in general) that I've been to - and I've lived in many different cities/states. The reviews below that are so critical, negative and slanderous can't possibly be accurate. I have been to a variety of doctors for a multitude of reasons and I have never had a provider spend so much time with me. She is clearly interested in my medical history and even getting to know more about me in general. Her ability to connect with, relate to and show compassion for a patient is rare. I highly recommend her, without hesitation, to anyone searching for the best doctor possible.

I was with my previous physician for 40 years and when he retired I was very concerned about finding a new physician with similar rapport. Dr Hennessey really filled the bill. She is thorough and explains everything in a comprehensive manner and listens carefully to my concerns. I feel very comfortable with her and her ability to handle my complicated health needs.

I am shocked by the previous reviews, because that has not been my experience with Dr. Hennessey at all - not even close. I saw Dr. Hennessey two days ago simply because I did not feel well. Before she came into the office, she already had some results from the urine test. After a quick but thorough exam, she ordered many blood tests, sending me for an ultrasound, and scheduling a CT scan. I've had several phone calls from her and from staff following me all along the way. I found her "bedside" manner excellent. I can't imagine what more you could want from any healthcare professional.

Extremely dissapointing Doctor. I was a patient dealing with numerous health issues and in terrible pain. Dr. Palmer-Hennessy was a total cold-fish during the visits and seemed more concerned about herself than her patient. She made it abundantly clear in an unpleasent tone that she didn't have time for my issues because they were to vast and very irritated that I would be taking more than my allotted 15 min intake processing. She was very arrogant about her skills when asking "concerning questions" about my medical care. When I pointed out her poor behavior instead of apologizing she later dropped me as a patient without warning, through a letter stating we didn't have a therapeutic relationship. Dr. Palmer-Hennessy spent considerable time writing in the medical notes condeming me about time spent in the visit and raising my voice with her after she talked condescending to me and less on the diagnosis or plan for care. In my opinion, it is essentially blacklisting me and… negatively portraying me with other Doctors before they even meet me. This haughty narcissistic style of doctoring is exceedingly unprofessional. Unsurprisingly, she missed diagnosing a few things that another Doctor easily found by simply listening to my complaints throughly, instead of rushing through with "half an ear" during the visit. I had to deal with months of unecessary pain due to her lack of empathy. Dr. Palmer Hennessy is probably a fine doctor to go to if you have a cold or something that is quickly diagnosed, a prescription written and out the door, but in my opinion she is not one who genuinely cares about her patients.

Dr. Palmer with MMG South Park is the most unethical physician I've ever met. Her professionalism is lacking, she has no compassion, she does not contact you when she says she will. It takes sometimes months to get prescriptions refilled by her. She's the worst doctor I've ever seen, and would highly suggest that NO person should ever seek medical care from her.

I've only seen Dr. Palmer 2 times, once was for a Physical, and the other was a followup appointment. I received a call from MMG stating that Dr. Palmer stated we were NOT a good fit, and that she didn't want to treat me anymore. I was appalled and really insulted that a Physician that I'd only seen briefly for 2 visits would say such a thing. Based on this....I consider it rude, totally unprofessional and against Physician's ethics. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone.
