I needed a hysterectomy, rectocele and cystocele for stage 3 prolapse. Initially, when I read Dr. Huggins reviews, I almost didn’t consider her as my surgeon. Many of her reviews were negative. Most of the negative reviews were do to the amount of time waited for their first appointment. I decided to book an appointment with Dr. Huggins anyway. I waited a half hour to be put in a room and almost another hour to see her. I was annoyed, but all of that went away when Dr. Huggins walked into the room. She spoke with me for about 25 minutes listening to my problems/issues with the prolapse condition. She spent another 15 minutes examining me. She returned to explain exactly what I needed to have done. I cannot say enough about her bedside manner. She spoke to me, in a kind and compassionate way. I was dreading this surgery- she was my choice hands down. I went to several other doctors. Their demeanors were cold and matter-of-fact. I also felt in one case, that the male urogynecology… surgeon spoke over my head and more to my husband. Dr.Huggins is a skilled surgeon with more than 15 years of preforming these specific surgeries for women. Post surgery, I cannot say enough good things about her staff and the way she has continued to take care of me. I would highly recommend Dr. Huggins for pelvic floor prolapse issues or a hysterectomy.

I was at her office almost four hours. I hour waiting in the lobby, then her brand new PA & nurse with less than three months of urogynecologic experience interviewed me for most of the 2 1/2 hours in the exam room. Dr. Huggins spent a brief amount of time speaking with me about only one treatment option for my issue and only gave be a brief overview of the two procedures she recommended. She’s a great doctor with not enough time for her patients as she doesn’t have a partner currently and her support staff lack experience. I still believe she is the best physician for women’s pelvic issues in the KC area; however if one is in great pain, waiting three months for an appt and then another two months for a procedure is like having a good doctor who knows her “craft” yet doesn’t have the time to help alleviate the pain her patients are in because she is spread so thin.

Dr Huggins takes the time needed to explain complex issues and procedures. She is caring and kind. She performed my surgery and her experience and expertise made all the difference in the world.

Very detailed when caring for her patients. Shows a great deal of concern about her patients health and well being.

Dr. Huggins was an amazing support during her initial evaluation as well as consecutive treatments since then. She has a wonderful passion for her patients and I would recommend her for her expertise in her field.

Have never been more comfortable with a doctor. Really listens and responds..The best ever!
