I do not recommend relying on this doctor for MRI interpretations at all!! Complete disaster!! Poor duty of care causing delay in care. The diagnosis report was also oddly short and not a typical MRI report. I was misdiagnosed big time!! My MRI of the right humerus was interpreted as showing “no significant abnormality,” and the report read as if there was essentially nothing wrong with my arm or shoulder. Meanwhile, I was experiencing severe pain, at times 10/10, with clear functional impairment. Because my symptoms did not match the report, I pursued further evaluation with a musculoskeletal ultrasound specialist. That evaluation identified clinically significant multiple pathologies that was not reflected in Dr. Kwan’s interpretation. I ultimately required surgical intervention for multiple confirmed pathologies. Being told that imaging is normal when significant pathology is later confirmed and surgery becomes necessary is not a minor oversight. In my case, this interpretation… contributed to a delay in appropriate diagnosis and prolonged suffering. Radiology reports directly guide treatment decisions. When clinically significant findings are missed, the downstream impact on patient care is serious. Patients should strongly consider having imaging independently reviewed rather than relying solely on Dr. Kwans interpretation.
