Written on behalf of the patient: I'm a senior citizen with limited proficiency in English. My intention was to receive a general cleaning & dental check-up limited to what is covered by my dental insurance plan. However, during my visit, a consultant spoke with me and presented a document to sign, which I did without fully understanding its contents due to the language barrier. Unfortunately, I did not realize that I had agreed to a procedure costing over $6,000. I was immediately charged half of that amount on the same day. I believe this was a mistake on my part for signing without adequate comprehension, but I also feel that the situation was not handled with proper sensitivity or transparency. For new patients, the dentist should prioritize performing only a basic cleaning & examination unless further treatment is clearly explained and consented to. My experience with Pacific Dental Grp. left me feeling taken advantage of. I believe a charge of $6,000 is excessive & inappropriate.
