I saw Dr Maki for help with depression, on my own I realized that if I quit drinking it could potentially help my mental health but I knew quitting would be very hard for me. I asked her for Naltrexone and she treated me like a drug addict, she has absolutely no background with alcohol and drug use and was not open to learning more despite Naltrexone being a proven drug to help with alcohol cessation. I fought with her about it for 3 months and then finally went to my primary care doctor and got it without any trouble. I took Naltrexone for about 3 months, happy to say I?m still sober 2.5 years later. My experience with Dr Maki was absolutely horrific, she was unsupportive and thinks she knows better than the patient despite myriad peer review articles backing up what I was requesting. I am still upset with how she treated me over 2 years later and wouldn?t recommend her to my worst enemy.
