Dr. Melissa Lee Mannion, MD

Dr. Mannion has treated my son for 5 years now. We are graduating to an adult rheumatologist and are so sad to be leaving her. She has been with us from day 1 of diagnosis. She is always very thorough, honest, thoughtful, and patient. She truly listens and CARES about her patients. She is blunt and some people just can’t handle that. I think that’s the reason for the negative reviews. I can’t imagine rating her anything less than a 5 after our years of seeing her!

When I brought my 12 year old daughter to see her, she didn't even run lab work on her, just dismissed her and told her she needed a better sleep pattern even though my child goes to bed by 8 and wakes up at 6 for school. She also take BP meds to keep her BP up, but according to this doctor if she had a better sleep pattern all of this would go away. Didn't read the notes from Mayo clinic in Rochester from the Rheum doc we saw there and wouldn't listen to what was said or what our ortho doc has stated. My child did not like her at all and neither did I. Not helpful at all and when asked how many patients with Autonomic Nervous System issues she treats, she stated a few. Very sad and we waited months to see her to get help. She even felt the fluid build up in my daughters ankles and suggested physical therapy and orthodics, we have a great ortho doc that has also stated it is all related to rheum and she refused to listen.
