Background
A nurse for 14 years prior to becoming a family nurse practitioner, Mesenburg credits her five years as a postpartum nurse in the Beaufort Memorial Collins Birthing Center for her love of women's health.
She subsequently earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice, Family Nurse Practitioner from The Medical University of South Carolina, with a research focus on improving women's health through education initiatives. She then worked as a family nurse practitioner serving veterans and the elderly in hospice care here in Beaufort. But her steadfast commitment to improving women's health in the Lowcountry led her back to Beaufort Memorial.
Mrs. Mesenburg and her husband have three daughters and have called Beaufort home since 2014. They love outdoorsy Lowcountry life and enjoy boating. The family has two cats, a turtle, a bearded dragon, a black lab, and a wiener dog named Summer Sausage.
