She tried to diagnose my mom based on empathy. Not having seen any scans or done any testing. The ER scan even showed colitis. Her exact words to my mom, "I'm going to tell you right now, you're bleeding from a hemroid. I'm only telling you this because of the scared look in your eyes." She became very argumentative when I told her that was wrong and that this is an issue my mom has been dealing with for years. She had an attitude with me for the duration of the appointment and it even started being directed at my mom. She became combative and even said "If it wasn't, wouldn't they have caught that in the 2014 scans?" Referencing my moms other appointments with other doctors for this same problem. We left her office feeling frustrated and like we hadn't been listened to. Her doctor that did her colonoscopy at the hospital had to apologize on Melissa's behalf. Because after years of dealing with this and after the treatment we received from Melissa, he discovered my mom has… diverticulitis and the internal bleeding was indeed NOT from a hemroid. We will not be going back and if we need any care, we'll be going up north. Unprofessional and ego driven. She shouldn't be taking care of patients if she can't actually LISTEN to them and their problems.
