Dr. Melissa Carin Pell, MD

I met this twisted sister at Mount Nittany Medical Center just a couple of years ago when I signed myself in for suicidal depression following the death of my husband after an eight-year-long illness. Testing came back with a positive for Morphine in my system. (I have had false positives for Morphine in the past and no one seems to know why. They claim that none of the combinations of my medications would cause it, so who knows?) I tried to explain this to Pell and asked for a retest. Oh no, says she! I know you're on it! A retest will get the same result! And in a nutshell, that is how Melissa Pell operates. She is the queen, high almighty of knowing everything about you and what's going on with you inside and out and don't you dare question her. Period. It's quite clear with her that "treatment" is a top dog/bottom dog affair. She says "sit" and you'd better do it. That's not health care. It's commands masquerading as care. This woman even had the temerity to… interfere with a pain medication I have been taking for years for a chronic pain condition that had nothing to do with her treatment of me. So when it came time to leave, I noticed on my discharge papers that she had discontinued this med.! I inquired about this and was informed that Ms. Pell thought I was taking too much medication so she was stopping that one! She had no business interfering with that med. and changing those instructions! That was way out of bounds and the way she did it was rude, with no concern for the client and with a total lack of respect for the client. Here, I learned, that without discussing it with me, she had staff remove the med. for a couple of days from my daily cocktail right before discharge! How dare she treat me like a lab rat in a cage for some experiment she's running! How unethical! News flash, Melissa, we walk on two legs, not four. Just in case you hadn't noticed while you were busy checking your manicure. I wouldn't trust this woman to care for a broken toenail let alone my psychological health! Buyer beware!
