Dr Melissa Sims

Melissa worked as a critical care RN for eight years at Bothwell Regional Hospital, Boone Hospital, and as a travel nurse across mid-central Missouri. She completed all of her graduate school training here at Southwest before becoming board certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.{line break}Melissa believes that health should not be defined merely as an absence of disease or illness but a state of equilibrium and congruence between physical, mental, and spiritual elements that constantly change through environmental influences. Her goal is to build partnerships with her patients to promote and maintain their state of equilibrium and congruence.{line break}In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, hiking, quilting, and visiting her two adult children.
