Dr. Melissa Painter Smith, DO

I have been receiving treatment for Parkinson's from Dr. Smith since 2016 and I have never known her to be rude or dismissive of my concerns or my symptoms. To me, Dr. Smith and her nurse/practioner have always listened to me and asked what my concerns are and how I'm doing. I think very highly of Dr. Smith and her staff and couldn't ask for better care.

I waited an hour in the waiting room, only on person in front of me, nurse was rude. Doctor Smith came in wanted to know why I was there, said she didn’t have time for me, I tried to explain to her I was referred there, acted like she was better than me, I cried and left, she said nothing, she shouldn’t be there!!

Today’s appointment was at 8:30. Arrived at 8:15. Vitals finished at 8:33. Left at 9:25....Unseen. Very first appointment she was 45 minutes late then wanted to rush through my symptoms and what steps I’d taken. Terrible.

Very polite and puts her patients best interests above all

I went to see her because of frequent falls, cognitive problems and headaches. She looked at my list of medications, which I have taken for many years and must take to control a serious health condition then tossed the paper on the table and told me I was over-medicated. She did not examine me and couldn't have shown less interest in anything I had to say.

Dr Smith is very knowlegible about my rare brain disorder. She offered alternatives for relieving my terrible migraines since pain medicine was not fixing the problem. I am so very grateful to have found her!
