Dr. Melody Hu, MD

I LOVE Dr. Hu and I giver her 5 stars. My only issue is with billing.

I was highly disappointed by my visits with Dr. Hu. She acted disinterested in my diagnosis, former treatments and concerns. Instead of listening to my past history and effectiveness of my prior pain specialist treatment plan, she reduced the dosage of the medication and lengthened the time intervals! This, left me anxious, tearful and without pain relief! I'm hoping in time that a trusting relationship can be built, otherwise I will need to seek treatment elsewhere! The office needs to be spruced up (scrapes on exam rooms, etc. dirty public restroom), and has old unreliable BP cuffs! Front desk receptionists are wonderful! Medical assistants can be rude, sloppy dressed, noted to eat at their desks, and using their cell phones while on duty! Urine specimens are left public view around paperwork. I'm concern about contamination and infection hazards! Calls in for scheduling, can have you waiting on hold for up to two hours! Urgent calls can go unanswered. There isn't any listed… number for someone to handle patient's concerns or no one to speak to directly about billing. I get the impression that the philosophy is, to rush you in, rush you out, and collect your money!

This doctor must of never had pain in her whole life! She didn't even look at my back where my chronic pain is. She only spent about 3 mins in the room with me and didn't seem to care that I was crying in pain. I came from a different pain specialist doctor and instead of keeping with my current pain medicine, she got rid of everything completely. She prescribed me a short acting pain medicine every 8 hours, even in the instructions for the script it says every 4-6hrs!! Just a horrible experience! Maybe she needs to spend more time and get to know her patients. By going to a pain specialist I really thought that she would know what to do about pain and give me some helpful tips on how to keep my pain under control.
