I owed 160.00 deductible and needed to pay it out but they would not see me till it gets paid

My husband and I have been seeing Dr Swinford for several years now. She is very easy to talk with, listens and explains everything. If you have questions, she takes the time to answer. I have never felt like I was being rushed out the door. A very important aspect for me is a doctor who is able to deal with the question "Why". She has never acted like she knows everything nor do I feel hesitant to mention new techniques I have read about or new medications I am interested in trying when others have bad side effects.

I started with this Clinic in January. I have been in maybe a total of 3 times. The last time I was there...I went in for breathing problems due to Allergies / SInus issues. Dr ordered a Cortizone shot and I got my flu shot. I have had dozens of shots in my lifetime in the hip area. This time....within 15 minutes of the nurse giving me this shot...I was in severe pain....and have been for the last 2 weeks with no relief. That has NEVER happened before. Pain goes from my behind all the way down my leg. I cannot do normal day to day activities...cannot bend my leg, bend over, sit, sleep without this pain and toes start to go numb at times. From all indications the nurse hit the sciatic nerve with the needle. Dr wants to order MRI for my back??? Which has not had any problems at all and maybe do PT. ..gave me a muscle relaxer which im wondering why since it is the nerve. Btw...it is not doing any good. I cannot and should not have to pay for any of these since I had absolutely no problem… with this part of my body before I got this injection. This needs to be fixed. I cannot live my life in this pain.....and after the Monday appointment I still have not heard back from anyone there at the office.

I have been seeing Dr. Swinford for about 8 years for physicals for my kids and random illnesses. Several of their office policies are just absolutely ridiculous. The last two incidents that caused me to say enough is enough was this: 1. My son in law lives in Alaska and him and my daughter visit for about two months in the winter. Everytime they visit he gets allergies. Since he has asthma, he made an appointment to go see Dr. Swinford to see if she could prescribe him an inhaler. As soon as they got to the appointment and they found out he lived in Alaska they sent them away and said that they couldn't see him because he wasn't local. What?!? They told him to go to the ER. 2. My daughter and I were in a car accident and were told by ETMC quitman to follow up with my primary care doctor. When I called to make an appointment I was told that they don't see people who have been in car accidents. What?!? again....I told them that I was a regular patient. It didn't matter. I was… on my own. So, here I am, trying to find a decent family doctor without having to go to Tyler. As far as Dr. Swinford goes, I never had any issues with her. Her office policies have got to be losing her patients but, like the rest of the world, no one cares about the customer or patient. The office staff told me that it's the doctors that make the policies. If that's the case, good luck with that. I'm going to find a different doctor.

The Dr. was never an issue for me or my wife. The office staff makes me wonder how she has any patients at all. The follow through with wife's specialist was non existent, felt like needed to call all day everyday to make things happen. My only hope is that she wises up and get good office staff. We will not ever go back till she does.

I've been with Dr. Swinford for about 3 years now and have not had issues as far as making appointments or during the visit when she is explaining procedures or diagnosis. I believe she does a very well job at breaking things down in a manner in which a normal person can understand. She works well with my Rheumatologist in figuring out ways to improve my overall health. Also, the wait time isn't bad; the most I've waited is maybe 15 minutes. The staff is also courteous and willing to answer any questions you may have.

I had a situation where I ran out of my blood pressure medicine. I was told by the receptionist that the only way I could get a refill was if I seen Dr. Swinford. I asked what I was supposed to do until I could get into her and she quickly told me I should have called 8 weeks earlier! When I called her on the rudeness, she said well, you should have. I asked to talk to someone else, and got her nurse, who told me the receptionist did not say that to me and she ended up hanging up on me! When I called to try to talk to Dr. Swinford about the situation, I was told Dr. Swinford would not talk to patients over the phone, but I could make an appointment to talk to her. She is okay as a doctor, but patient care is low on this office's list of importance. I am finding a new doctor and will not be using them any longer. Never heard of a doctor that won't talk to their patients over the phone. I, like every other patient, am more than a number and a dollar sign.

Dr Swingord is one the best doctors I have been to. She cares about her patients. She takes time with you and listens to you. She is so easy to talk to. I am very blessed to have doctor like Dr.Swinford.

Do not go to this doctor or this office. She will just dole out a prescription if you tell her you need one. She will not diagnose anything herself. She also will not spend a lot of time with you.If you go get a physical done it won't be very thorough. Her office staff are rude and are argumentative. They won't bill things to insurance correctly.
