Dr. Melvin Leon Pegram, MD

I and my Mother had the honor of Dr. Melvin Pegram being my Mother's doctor when she came to St. Mary's ER in her final hours. She came there in full blown septic shock with a white blood cell count of 160,000, it should be 12,000 with a fever of 103.5, heart racing and BP plummeting. They called him in because he was the best doctor in the hospital and was called for the worst cases. He was competent, compassionate, knowledgeable and did everything in anyone's power to save her. I miss my Mother everyday but I have the blessing that she was in the best possible care with Dr. Pegram. He made himself available to me in later days at midnight when I needed to talk. I would recommend him to anyone for themselves or their loved one. I have dealt with a plethora of doctors over the years and I have never seen anyone better

My family member was delayed care due to this doctor and did not respect me nor the nurses who advocated for my loved one. My loved one now has injuries because of his significant lack of listening and judgement. He may have a doctorate but he does not present the empathy or social skills that are so critical to his profession.
