Dr. Meredith Barad, MD

The patient reviews regarding this physician's attitude (lack of empathy, etc.) are accurate. I went to Stanford with the hope that they could help me (as they have with numerous family members over the years as one of the best hospitals in America). I was told after they studied my case, that they were almost sure they could. Then I met Dr. Barad - and it only went downhill from there. No bedside manner. God complex. No compassion. She made many stereotypical remarks and assumptions. And in the end, said she would not treat me after presenting a part of treatment in the form of an option (if it was not an option, why make it appear as one). She then just walked out of the room and did not return. I never saw her again. Her assistant (who was much more helpful) appeared dumbfounded by her actions. In the end, I left in tears. I did not stop crying for hours, and her actions left me feeling hopeless and with a question as to why I would even want to continue living for quite some time.… I would never recommend this doctor. Trust what others are saying. You will leave feeling worse than you ever have. I refused to return to her as anything or anyone that makes you think that negative should not be in your life if you have the power to remove them from it.

I have been a patient of Dr. Barad for over 6 years. She is the most wonderful, knowledgeable, kind doctor. Is she busy? Yes. Does she have interns with her? Yes. But Stanford is a teaching hospital and I am glad those interns are learning from the best. I am stunned at the negative reviews. Dr Barad is the best there is.

I did call in a complaint several years ago with Stanford and refused to see this doctor again. I am actually surprised to see that they have kept her on as I am highly certain that my encounter with her is not isolated. I have had all great experiences at Stanford except for this doctor.

I cannot begin to express how disgusted I am with Dr. Barad. I went in for a 15-minute treatment. After waiting over an hour, I was told by a nurse that it would be another 20 minutes until I was seen. The reason was that the doctor had two students with her, and EVERY TIME that is the case, her schedule is excessively delayed because the patient is seen by the "student" first, and then Dr. Barad. I asked why they didn't then schedule fewer patients on "student" days, but there was no reason, only that this is how their schedule "works." I asked why I hadn't been told for the hour I had already been waiting. Again, no reason. Barad subsequently snapped at me when I asked how long the procedure would take once she finally got started, and told me it was my choice to leave. At that time, I walked out. I am filing a complaint with the patient experience manager and will take any other action possible. This clinic clearly has no respect for its patients or their time.

I never met a doctor negative and dishonest like this doctor. Be very careful having any trust with this doctor

Overrated and under qualified

Bait-and-switch, promising me one procedure but performing a different procedure. Wasted weeks waiting for the procedure while my insurance company says that they were waiting for her to provide information for the preauthorization process. Then after she provides the information her offices calls them to cancel the process, with no explanation. She is very hard to reach, ignoring emails and phone calls.

Dr. Barad is quite competent technically and has an astute knowledge of what is currently happening in her field. Furthermore, she has a pleasant bedside manner and always makes time to answer questions. I would strongly recommend her. -r

I couldn't agree less with the other reviewer. I found Dr Barad pleasant, personal, & quite knowledgable. With me she was not hurried, which excuses the wait I had. For 20 years I saw an eminent neurologist for cluster headaches. Dr Barad seems at least his match for clinical skills, & far more agreeable to work with.

just overall abraisive, non interactive, inefficient, doesnt seem to care or pay attention patient needs.
