Dr. Meredith Maddox Galvin, PMHNP-BC

Meredith Galvin is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 20 years of combined experience in social work and nursing. She is dedicated to supporting the mental and emotional well-being of individuals across the lifespan through a compassionate, whole-person approach to care. Meredith’s clinical practice is grounded in both professional expertise and a deep understanding of the challenges her patients face.

She began her career in child welfare after earning her Bachelor of Social Work from Meredith College in 1998, spending 12 years serving children and families in North Carolina. Motivated by a desire to expand her ability to help others, she later earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University to pursue psychiatric care. Her nursing experience includes work at Duke Hospital in medical-surgical care and on the inpatient psychiatric unit, as well as psychiatric home health care after relocating to …Wilmington, North Carolina.

In 2025, Meredith completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University and became certified as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her dual background in social work and nursing allows her to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds and address the emotional and environmental factors that influence mental health. She has experience working with individuals across age groups and has a particular passion for trauma-informed care, psychiatric crisis stabilization, and supporting those with complex needs. She provides care for individuals managing a range of mental health concerns, including:

Meredith is committed to building therapeutic relationships rooted in trust, empathy, and respect. She values meeting patients where they are and helping them feel seen, heard, and supported throughout their mental health journey. Outside of her practice, she enjoys living near the beach, where the ocean provides a sense of peace and grounding. She shares her life with her supportive husband, their four daughters, and their beloved 16-year-old Maltese, Roxie, and remains closely connected to her rural roots and extended family. Meredith believes deeply in the power of relationships, lifelong learning, and creating space for healing.
