Dr Meredith L Lightfoot, MD

Dr. Lightfoot is probably knowledgeable in her field. Hard to tell when she only gives you about 2 minutes in the room. Due to thin walls, I could hear everything she said the the patient in the next room. When it was my turn, she walked in, and asked, “what can I do for you?’’ No introduction whatsoever, and she never even acknowledged My husband who was there with me. Totally ignored him. She spent very little time on the issue I was there for, and spent more time discussing health concerns I didn’t have. After she left, her nurse came in and have me “coaching” on how to avoid UTI’s. I want there for that reason. Then I was handed pamphlets on more health issues I didn’t have that offered medication I didn’t need. I’m thinking she gets a kickback for bottles sold? She did order a test for my condition and I had that done. I received the results the next day. She called me with the results 2 weeks later while I was recovering from surgery in the hospital. Fortunately, I have a… good friend who is a Dr. and could tell me what they meant. Dr. Lightfoot may be a good urologist, but her bedside manner is truly lacking. I won’t be seeing her again. I am positive there are others in her field that are just as good, even better that also have the ability to treat people with respect.

I’m sure Dr. Lightfoot is knowledgeable, but she breezes in for 30 seconds, (in surgery mask! Pre-Covid), breathlessly tells you what is wrong with you, doesn’t listen, even told me after trying some treatments “well we’re done then - nothing we can do”, and hurriedly bolted out of the room. Complete waste of time and money - several awkward appointments and lots of trial prescriptions, and no results or improvements. I gave up. She needs to slow down and talk to her patients. I probably had 4 appointments and saw her for 5 minutes total.

What an awful, dangerous experience! Imagine my horror at my last visit (and I DO mean last visit!), I hear Dr Lightfoot yelling at her staff, demeaning them, browbeating them, insulting them, all of them black, she is white. (I'm white by the way.) I hear her yell my last name, demanding where my urinalysis results are. I hear an apologetic, exasperated reply that the sample hadn't been run yet--they hadn't had time. Not 10 seconds later she bursts through the door and announces my urine is clear --I don't have a urinary tract infection. (?) I tell her, wait I just heard you yelling at your staff, and my UA hasn't even been run yet.... "Oh you mis-heard, you heard wrong." You don't have an infection, I don't even know why your here...If you really want another Macrobid Rx that's fine but you don't need it," and stomped off. No work up. Never ran any tests. Two years of urinary tract infections, burning like crazy when peeing. Horrible odor to urine... She did not do an ultrasound… to see if the bladder sling had slipped. Did not do a voiding test to see how the bladder was emptying. Did not do cystography (camera inside the bladder to see what's going on.). Well another doctor did, thank God for UT Southwestern. But now I face a horrible, horrible surgery because all those 'not a bladder infections' have added up to hundreds and hundreds of bacterial cysts attached to my bladder wall, and the only treatment is to go in there and burn each one of them off (fulguration). I'm on full time antibiotics to try to suppress the infection. I face 6-8 weeks of no driving---not because of any medications but because the bladder is going to be so painful with movement. Narcotics don't reach this area in sufficient quantity to provide pain relief. So I just have to bear this. Crippling pain, time off work....no sex.... the list goes on. All because of this truly horrible and witnessed by me, and in my humble opinion, racist doctor. Go elsewhere!!!! And Texas Presby.... why would you allow such an awful doctor to practice in your facility? Seriously!!!! Really makes me question the judgment of all involved there. I won't be back! You need negative stars for this poor example of a doc.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lightfoot for a few years now, I even referred my sister to her. Before I was able to ask my sister about her experience she was saying “I really love her, she is reliable in her care, customer service is excellent”. She is like talking with your best friend about your health concerns. I can call with any questions or concerns I have about my condition and she is really easy to open up to. I have had emergencies come up and no questions asked she saw me right away.

Went in for a UTI, I told her I had hormone pellets done due to my low hormone levels from menopause. She then kept mentioning, oh you then you have a lot of sex. I am a very private person, but I let it go. Evidently this increases your chance of getting a UTI, but she kept referring back to it and then mentioned if I did one of the rejuvenation treatments it would help and it would make me all pretty down there. I was in shock, she continued to talk to me while I was uncovered after the exam and actually patted me to make her point. I felt sick to my stomach, I went home and cried, I will never go back.

She is the best doctor! She is very understanding and knowledgeable!

Very compassionate! Diagnosed my problem and treated me successfully at the first visit. Would absolutely recommend Dr. Lightfoot.

A urologist I had gone to for 20+ years retired and I had to find someone else. I went to her because her ratings were good. I didn't find her good at all. When I told her the procedure my old doc did, she told me if she did that her colleagues would laugh at her, BUT - she would go ahead and do it if I wanted her to. Are you kidding??? I didn't want her to touch me after that. What kind of a doctor says that?? Who cares what your colleagues think?? I don't necessarily like the procedure either - but it worked - EVERY TIME! She said it "was embarrassing to her and her patients". Really???!!!! Isn't a lot of what you do embarrassing for your patients?? But I thought you were professional and above that!! On top of that - she seemed very rushed - like she didn't have time for me. I won't EVER go back to her, and I don't recommend her either.

I love Dr Lightfoot! Incredibly warm and relaxing demeanor. Takes care of her patients with the " white glove" treatment! Thank You Dr Lightfoot and her staff!
