Dr. Merrick Ira Ross, MD

Aside from being brilliant at what he does Dr Ross made me feel comfortable and at ease. I was diagnosed with melanoma Aug 2023. I see him today for another problem that’s popped up but I know I’m in good hands. His staff is wonderful as well.

I was a patient of Dr Ross for 17 years. I was diagnosed with melanoma in 2000. Dr Ross was extremely caring and compassionate and explained all procedures so that I would understand what to expect. He has a sense of humor and always made me feel at ease all the years I went to MD Anderson. I can’t say enough how professional everyone I came into contact with in the Melanoma clinic conducted themselves.

Dr. Ross cared for my brother. He never gave up on him. I could never thank him enough for the kindness and respect he gave to our family. On top of being a really good guy, he just so happens to also be the best in the world at what he does.

Dr. Ross treated me for breast cancer. He is compassionate and very patient-centered. He's clearly a brilliant physician and surgeon. I feel very lucky to have had Dr. Ross take care of me during a very difficult time.

There are not enough wonderful things I can say about Dr. Ross and his Team. He is above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined. I feel like I am the only patient he has and his team almost immediately returns calls and emails. All my questions are always answered. His knowledge, care, concern are more than I ever would have ever expected. Top notch in my book and I would recommend to anyone diagnosed with melanoma. I am recovering from my second surgery and I am sad to be moving on to my medical oncologist. Dr. Ross and his Team have become my family and I look forward to my follow up visits with them and a positive future.

When I was diagnosed with melanoma, I chose MD Anderson as my best chance to defeat it. I have not been disappointed. The whole experience has gone like clock-work. While checking in for my first visit, I was told that Dr. Ross was considered one of the best, and that has certainly been my impression. He is very down-to-earth and seems intrested in my inquiries. Spends as much time as necessary . Never seems impatient. His staff is extremely quick to respond to changes I request in scheduling, etc. As to his skill, I went to play with the big boys, and we are winning. I sleep very well.

I've only needed to visit Dr Ross a couple of times, and surgery once. I can say that he runs a tight ship, his staff has 100% snap and the most caring group I've ever encountered in a Dr office!! Dr Ross has a wonderful demeanor, and seems to know what he is doing. I'm not certain yet about accuracy, but so far it looks promising that he got the melanoma. Time will tell. I couldn't imagine having any dr other than him for a first blush with cancer!
