Dr Keis was part of my medical team at MD Anderson and I cannot say enough positive things about how he treated me. He explained each step of my chemo treatment and always made sure I was well taken care of. Dr Keis PA and nurse were also so positive and helpful. Nothing but exceptional treatment

Dr Kies is a patient's doctor! He cares and gives good advice to terminal ill and those in clinical trails. He saved my life in 2001 . I survived mesothelioma!

Went above and beyond textbook treatment.

My husband was already being treated as palliative (doctor speak for walking dead). He has a Sottish Nurse who loves to expand on just how much you will suffer and how awful you will look if you use his one trick pony. Chemo. He gave my husband chemo which was worth while +/- 5 %. meaning statistically useless. Sloane gave it a +/- 2%.. Of course the cancer came back. We asked about going to other institutions and he blew up. Sneered and said, " you can go to any where you like". He offered to do a 50 DNA match study, After the death sentence was in, because this is how MDAnderson works. TRUST ME IT IS NOT BEING DONE FOR YOU but he'll make it sound like a little ray of sunshine. IF YOU HAVE VIABLE FROZEN PATHOLOGY. MDAnderson will wait until it is of no real value to you for targeted treatments. Then offer to run DNA match protocols DO NOT DO IT. MDA , YES IT IS ON THEIR OWN URL., GOING TO DO A BROAD NON FOCUSED TEST. THESE TESTS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO HELP YOU… SPECIFICALLY. They are only offered as you advance in disease, so they can catalogue samples. Then they will wait until you are even sicker. They'll offer to do a larger test. Way too late for you. Think you're offering up your tumor to science? Think again! You may well find that within the next few years there may be a immunization study that fits your cancer. Many are already beginning to be successfully used w/far less damage to the system than chemo. Often, they even have the advantage of being repeated, with greater survival rates as they come on line. MDA's URL site in 'research ' describes how they will sell or arrange for other research labs to get samples of your pathology even while you are still alive & which might have helped you instead. Think before you act. Make sue you know why you're letting him do this. Get a Med. lawyer. to help you process this. Kies will never tell you the truth.

Listens well to patient's comments. His attitude gives you a lot of confindence in him and his decisions.
