Dr. Merrill Mathew

I have been seeing Dr. Mathew for over one year. Can't recommend him enough. Extremely responsive.

Dr. Mathew has been thoughtful and considerate every time we speak. He is very responsive and you can tell that he truly cares.

His manner of interacting with me was artificial, as if I were communicating with a robot.

Telehealth visit once. He did not seem very bright.

First zoom session Dr. Matthew was engaged and reassuring. Follow up sessions I felt he was less knowledgeable about OCD and managing anxiety than psychiatrists I had received care from at other times in my life. Dr. Matthew seemed to become irritated with my input about what has helped me through rough times in my past. After a short time, I came to feel he was not capable of managing my care effectively. I found a new mental health provider in New Haven, which was the right choice for me. Lesson learned: if a psychiatrist can see a new patient right away, that may be a red flag.
