Dr. Meryl Gail Goldhaber, MD

Dr. Goldhaber is the best neurologist in Rhode Island. She’s the only one I will go to

Dr. Goldhaber listens to you and does not push you to get tests you may not need. She cares about assisting with medicines all she can with current technology. She has helped me get past some big problems with medicine, advice, and is there for me if I need more tests. I feel like she is the best specialist anyone can have. She is flexible and will try out new things if she thinks it can make a difference. She is an excellent Doctor that cares.

I HAVE BEEN GOING TO HER SINCE 2013 WHEN SHE DIAGNOSED ME WITH PPMS. I LOST MY HUSBAND LAST YEAR AND GOT LITTLE SYMPATHY FROM HER. I TRIED AMPYRA AND OCREVUS AT HER INSISTANCE BOTH OF WHICH MADE ME REALLY SIC, IT INCREASED MY DISABILITY. PHONE APPOINTMENT LAST WEEK SHE SAID I HAD LESIONS ON MY NECK MRI TAKEN LAST YEAR AFTER CALLING ME THEN TO SAY THE BRAIN WAS STABLE. SHE SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME LAST YEAR. SHE WANTS ME TO TRY TYSBARI WHICH ISN'T EVEN F0R PPMS. I TOLD HER I WAS ALONE AND FEARED IF THIS PROGRESSED ME FURTHER I WOULD END UP IN A NURSING HOME. SHE SAID I COULD ANYWAY. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO SUCH A HEARTLESS DR.

SHE IS THE WORST. COULD CARE LESS ABOUT HER PATIENTS. ASK HER A QUESTION AND SHE ANSWERS..."I DON'T KNOW" ASKS MY HUSBAND TO GET UP AND WALK AND WHEN I SAID HE CAN'T AND HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO FOR YEARS SHE SAID "I DIDN'T KNOW THAT" STAY AWAY IF YOU CAN

Worst patient/customer service ever! Every time you call you get placed on hold, sometimes for extended periods of time or she never comes back to the line. Denies appointments stating understaffed. Staff appears to be flustered and unorganized. States she is the only one there and gets little help. Have been trying to resolve a referral from TRICARE for months. Most importantly, Dr needs to update her profile for accurate referrals. Still says she’s with an office, she’s left for over three years now.

She explains things well and ordered the right tests to diagnose my condition. I would highly recommend this doctor.

Doctor Goldhaber is an outstanding doctor and in my opinion the best in her field. I feel that I am in good hands in her care. Additionally her staff are friendly and helpful.

My husband was going through a very scary time with symptoms that no one could explain. Dr. Goldhaber was cold and we "fired" her after my husband had a scheduled appointment with her and because test results hadn't returned yet she came out to the waiting room to tell him there was no need for the appointment since the results hadn't come back. We asked if we could still have our appointment since we had questions and she again said there was no need since the test results hadn't come back. This conversation was done in the waiting room in front of other patients. She obviously didn't care about my husband or our concerns.

Great Doctor

I felt that Dr. Goldhaber was not concerned enough about my condition and ignored my suggestions despite me being in chronic pain. It seemed like a return visit was more important than discussing multiple methods of relieving my pain in one session.
