Dr. Michael Robert Abidin, MD

Dr Abidin did surgery on my snoring/sleep apnea, a surgery that he invented to secure the hyoid membrane. My sleep apnea score was tested before and after and went from 57/hr to 9/hr, a cure! He is also treating me for allergies and is careful enough to monitor the immune responses over time. He is a true expert ENT and I highly recommend him. I know that he is the doc that other physicians refer their pts to when they cannot figure out what is wrong.

My husband snored so bad I could not get any sleep. I ressearch and found Dr.Abidin. He told us my husband has two issues, his obstructed nasal passage and possibly his throat collapsing while he slept. He said to try the first surgery and see if it helped and if not we'll try the throat. Snoring stopped for 1 year!!! OMG I was so happy. Husband gained 30 pounds of muscle and is now snoring again so we're going back to get second surgery. I definitely can't wait to sleep peacefully again.

I wish I had never let him do ear surgery. He said I would be able to hear a bit better, and would repair the hole in my ear. Well my hearing is worse, but even more, I have pressure and a feeling that things are not right on the side of my surgery. I can understand that my hearing may not improve, but now I'm left with other problems. I wished I'd never done the surgery. You can tell he's annoyed, that my procedure did not come out good, and the follow ups are beginning to be a waste of my time. Just more money for him.

It's official, useless surgery. It's over 3 months later, $1500+ wasted, over 100 hours sick leave gone, I still have headaches AND the tube in my ear just came out. The original reason for the surgery. I am one upset chick in pain right now!! Not sure what my next step needs to be. Of course he will be able to provide you examples of other patients experiences, but I am not interested in them, I care about what's next for me and I still don't know. I guess I'll wait and see what else goes wrong. My biggest complaint would be feeling like I'm not heard. I don't like that I have to remind him at each appointment what he did at my last procedure and why I had surgery. It's not funny and very frustrating.

I am tired this evening, although resting comfortably after the wonderful visit today with Dr. Abidin. I am so happy that I just had to go online now to tell everyone about it. I, too, am one of those people who have difficult and miserable sinuses. Having been to many doctors oveer the years, and settling for what I knew what not the best treatment, I finally found Dr. Abidin. What a huge difference! He immediately set me at ease, and after speaking with him for only a few minutes (not that he rushed at all--he gave me all the time I needed) I realized that he is a very special doctor. I have an immune deficiency, which I usually struggle telling doctors about, and he knew all there was to know, and then some. I was immpressed. Dr. Abidin, after a thorough examination and tests, targeted the problem, and discussed several options with me. Mind you that not all doctors are so confident and respectful. No condescension, no defensiveness, just straight forward discussion that focused… directly on resolving my sinus infection. My condition was diagnosed and aggressively treated in expert fashion. This is a complete turn of fortune for me, and I heartily recommend Dr. Abidin to everyone.The facilites for Metropolitan ENT are first-rate, everyone is professional, efficient and friendly. Parking is good, close to the building.

This is the kind of doctor you used to read about--they almost don't exist anymore. He is not only completely competent and a leader in his field, but he is personable, funny, and actually treats patients with respect. One of a kind.

Before him I went another doctor who even could not understand my problem, and Mr. Abidin, he directly solved the problem he is a really good doctor he knows what he is doing...highly recommended...

I highly recommend Dr. Abidin. He is a very caring and astute doctor. He diagnosed me over 10 years ago and is still treating me for a rare condition which presents (in me) as sinus infections. Over the years, I have seen over 40 Ear, Nose and Throat specialist and basically they all gave up just giving me massive doses of antibiotics which really did not work. I have done everything Dr. Abidin has told me to do to treat the condition and have not had antibiotics for 3 years. He looks for answers to perplexing conditons and finds ways to help the patient. I will never be cured but my quality of life is excellent under his care.

I went to Dr. Abidin for dizziness. He ordered tests right away. I had the hearing test (which was good) that day. I had to come back to audiology for the VNG test. The audiologist was very nice. She was patient with me and helped me through the test by holding my hand and letting me know how many seconds were left (during the caloric testing which makes you dizzier) I was scared, but she was very helpful. I was diagnosed and came back for a follow-up feeling somewhat better. I feel that I got excellent care and very organized care. I would recommend. My brother has also gone to Dr. Abidin and he did the epley maneuver and cured his vertigo. Mine wasn't caused by the same problem.
