Dr Abrahams treated me like a person and a human. It didn't seem to matter to him that I had low level insurance, as he still delivered high end care and gave me a generous amount of time to listen and explain what I was going through and offer solutions. I was temporarily without insurance and no longer able to him, but wish that I could, as I'm having a ver hard time with the menopause and suffering in silence. He's such an amazing doctor. I have never met any other like him. I wish he was still in Brooklyn and took Cihgna!!

It is important for me to feel like my doctor really listens. Not only does Dr. Abrahams have the knowledge, skill, training and experience of a good doctor but he is also caring and compassionate. I feel comfortable asking him a lot of questions and I always feel he takes the time to listen and explain things to me.  I had been having perimenopause symptoms and wanted a doctor whose primary focus was on woman my age. Not only is Dr. Abrahams open to integrative practices but he is also grounded in traditional medicine. He also is an expert at bio identical hormone balancing. At first meeting Dr. Abrahams took a complete and thorough intake of my medical and gynecological history. So many doctors ask questions when you are on the exam table and canâ??t think straight. Dr. Abrahams was systematic and his questioning helped me to give him all the information he needed. He was the first doctor to say â??what you are telling me is not normalâ?? and gave me a sonogram and properly… diagnosed me (finally!). He had a plan of action and took control over what was a very scary situation for me making me feel safe. Since I have know him Dr. Abrahams has helped me with the ups and downs of what has been a difficult time for me having now had 2 surgeries with him. He has given me excellent information and is up to date on the ever-changing menopause research. I would recommend him to any woman going through perimenopause and menopause.

I found Dr. Abrahams after seeing many other Gynecologists. Although he believes in the least invasive first, helped me through two surgeries which were difficult for me. The best thing about him is that he really listens to me and has given me validation and treatment options for my perimenopause symptoms. He is a menopause specialist and that is important to me at this time in my life.

I am so lucky to get to know a perfect gyn doctor finally. I had a great experience with Dr. Abraham. He spent a lot of time with me very patiently. He is very friendly and so knowledgeable especially for menopause which was my concern. I would highly recommend him.

I went to this doctor for a few years bc I liked the staff and found him to be an ok doctor. Nothing fancy, just regular routine check up, Pap smears and when I needed more birth control pills. I traveled from Staten Island to his Brooklyn office (right over the bridge) not minding to pay a toll bc I was content with everything. Like a few other reviewers Dr Abrahams would constantly tell me to get off of the pill and try to get pregnant bc my eggs were healthy at my age and etx. Just for other readers, I was 24 when I started using him and he mentioned this to me at 25. I found it odd and also rude that he would even mention that, considering he didn't know my relationship status. At 26, I was pregnant and my husband and I couldn't be happier. When we went to the office (which took 3 weeks to book an appt) he was very blah to tell me the news. Since I was 8 weeks the time of the visit I needed an internal sonogram. Since it was located in another room, I asked him if he could have… someone to get my husband from the waiting room to see the ultrasound. Anyway, he did the so gram very rushed and then proceeded to tell me that my husband wouldn't be able to see anything and then see here's a picture. I was furious! This doctor seems to only want women to get pregnant so that he can make money. I liked him as my gyno but NOT as my ob. I switched to dr kokkinakos in Staten Island who delivered both of my children and would never go back. I am not one to complain or rant but he also told me cousins husband after delivering their daughter "you should thank me for shaving her". He's a nasty person and has terrible bedside manner. For those who have good experiences with him God Bless. For those who want the dr to be happy with you during your pregnancy voyage, this man is not the guy to go to.

I've had appointments with Dr. Abrahams in the VAMC in Manhattan. Aside from the centralized booking process, which becomes a hassle sometimes, he and and his support staff seemed quite competent. I agree with the below comment, that he is a well trained and articulate American doctor. I found that important as I've had quite a few gynecologist (and doctors in general) who were trained elsewhere. Not only did I have problems communicating with doctors and their staff, I feel like their approach to medicine was heavily influenced by their education background (elsewhere!) I certainly feel more comfortable and trusting of Dr. Abrahams because I know that from his end, he understands what I'm saying and therefore my concerns are being addressed (rather than linguistically incompetent doctors who tweak what they hear to accomodate to their level of understanding). Follow-ups are great so far and you only have to explain things once - very organized. Both he and his staff call to address… concerns promptly.

After searching the web for an American well trained, English speaking gynecologist, I came to Dr. Abrahams. I was not disappointed. He spent a lot of time with me and explained my condition very clearly and articulately. He has stellar credentials and good morale character and his knowledge of alternate and natural treatments was quite suprising and refreshing. His call backs were timely and he certainly gained my respect.

Last year, I went for my annual Pap Smear/ checkup and asked for a renewal prescription of my Ortho Tri-Cyclen. He looked at my file, (I am 29 years old and have been on the Pill for about 8 years). He said, "Shouldn't you be settling down and getting married? The Pill isn't an excuse to do whatever you want, with whomever you want. You should try abstinence." And he would not write the prescription. I promptly found another doctor. Not professional nor ethical at all!
