Dr. Michael Mostafa Altaweel, MD

This doctor is with precision and impartial to ones treatment despite of the years of dedication that he endures to accomplish the best results within his realm of gift. I love the focus and silent character that tells me that he sets out to grasp the impossible to the possible. I know his family must lone for his time more as he delinquency perform his true purpose and love for helping others no matter how dim to condition may be. I salute you Dr. Altaweel for your gratitude, hard work, and sacrifice.

3-4 stars for surgery expertise. 0 stars for trust-building and considering the patient as part of the care team. Let me begin by saying that I'd like to believe that the lack of CARE that I've experienced is a symptom of the Clinic/system. Presumably, Dr. Altaweel is skilled as a surgeon, but unfortunately, it seems that he, like many, has become yet another victim (or tool) of the broken profit-driven medical system. Routinely, I wait over 1 hour for 8 minutes with the doc. I spend more time deciding what to order at a restaurant than the time given to discuss, vet, and consider a decision about major eye surgery. Calls to the clinic never are answered by the doc. This is not a model for care that gives me much confidence, nor does it elicit my trust.

Dr. Altaweel has provided excellent care for me through multiple surgeries and conditions for over 10 years. He has always been very attentive to my questions and takes even the smallest symptoms seriously. He collaborates well with my other physicians, is very diligent in diagnosing conditions, and is very open, honest and caring. I would highly recommend Dr. Altaweel to anyone.

Dr. Altaweel is extremely knowledgeable, but has poor people skills. He rushes through appointments, and acts like he doesn't have time for questions. When I experienced an eye problem after a one month post-surgery follow up appointment, I called the office staff for advice (since no one can talk to the doctor directly anymore). The nurse I spoke to was short with me and wouldn't even spend a couple of minutes on the phone discussing what I could do to relieve the symptoms. I am canceling the next follow up appointment, and will not see this doctor again.
