Dr. Michael J Ayad

In early 2022 I was admitted to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital with the worst headache I ever had and diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. Dr. Ayad was my neurosurgeon there, he took plenty of time to explain what happened to me and what the next steps would be, He was cheerful, upbeat and most importantly, instilled confidence by his demeanor and personality. I was more than impressed with the care he and his team provided in such a positive and gracious way. The surgery went well and I feel very lucky and thankful that Dr. Ayad happened to be my doctor.

I presented to Vanderbilt ER with my husband, I was unconscious and had been for a few hours m I had an AVM in the cerebellum and it had hemmorhaged the size of a softball. The next six months I had surgery performed by Dr ayad to resect the area of the AVM and I had shunt placement surgeries performed by another physician. The surgery was successful but those 6months were unbelievable! I was in so much constant pain and I was being told that I would be discharged to a rehab facility blto relearn to walk. Dr. AyD saw my determination and suppported my decision to make myself learn to wAlk again so I could be discharged home. It's a huge thing to give that much trust to someone but he is definitely Worthy of your trust and I sure miss him in Nashville right now as I have a few new decisions to make and as I explained to him in the beginning I don't like it when people sugar coat anything, and Dr. Ayad never did. Sure could use you now doc.. I am not nearly as confident this time. You… are so very lucky to have a friend and surgeon like him to turn to. We miss you doc! I miss you being here to help me figure out the best way to handle my newest neuro problem. Take care of him NY!

YOU CAN NOT FIND A BETTER NEUROSURGEON. DR.AYAD SAVED MY LIFE. HE ALSO IS A CARING, LISTENING DOCTOR. WITH OUTSTANDING BED MANNERS. HE ALSO HAS AN EXCELLENT STAFF. THE DOCTOR HAS HANDS OF GOLD.

Caring, skillful, compassionate, accommodating etc etc etc. I can go on and on about this doctor! He's a life saver and an angel on earth!

He saved my life. It is rare, no impossible, to find a neurosurgeon with greater skill, knowledge or compassion than Dr. Michael J. Ayad. He & his teams emergency treatment of my very large ruptured cranial aneurism not only saved my life, but also resulted in me being left with no residual neurological issues, which is extremely rare & a testament to his ability. He was and remains an integral part of my life.

I was referred to Dr Ayad and he knows his stuff. He took time to explain everything in layman's terms, he actually gave me opportunities to ask questions and clarify things I didn't understand. For someone as busy as he is, he takes time to attend to you. The front staff on the other hand? They're brusque and unwilling to answer questions and all...

There are not enough good words that come to my mind.As far as spending time,and talking to me about risks and what to expect after a brain embolization. He was honest in every thing he told me. When the time came that he couldn't do anymore for me... he told me.Such a humble person, so caring.I'm grateful to have had him as a surgeon!! Nashville needs many more like him, I'm certain they miss him at Vanderbilt. I'm forever grateful!!!

My wife was seen by this doctor who was able to diagnos her problem immediately and then performed her surgery. He spent a lot of time with her and had the best people skills I have ever witnessed. His abilities were exceptional. I would highly recommend this neurosurgeon.
