Medical needs were assumed to be psychogenic. I struggled to get my symptoms taken seriously, even though they did eventually diagnose me with a neurological disease after doing an EMG. Even after diagnosis, I had to struggle to be helped. the psychiatrist I was seeing for anxiety still had to call the doctor to tell him I wasn't prone to imagining symptoms. My balance problems were continually called psychogenic, but I had a VNG recently that showed I have a central vestibular disorder.

After getting an appointment cancelled and postponed several times (by a robocall) I finally got through to a live person. I am a senior and they expected for me to drive 70 miles for a very early appointment. Being reduced to tears by the receptionist on the phone I finally told her to forget it, I will find another doctor. It doesn’t matter to them if a person is in pain. It is all about $$$! I will find another doctor!

I've seen Dr. Baum several times and have been very impressed. He is thorough in his explanations, always open to questions, and tells you what options are open. He seems kind and caring.

Dr. Balm gave me a through examination. He took his time and explained everything to me. He gave me options to think about. I am VERY pleased with my visit to Dr. Balm

I really like Dr. Balm and that is a night because I am mistrusting with Doctors. Had too many bad experiences. He was very thorough and treated me with respect. He was knowledgeable and supportive.

I asked the WORST office staff in the world to add to my medical records the DNA test results for my LGMD diagnosis, and they wanted me to pay $500+ to just add what was discovered to my file.

If you have migraine, avoid this guy--because he clearly doesn't want to bother. After two years, no adjustments in medications, no interest in new studies or treatments, doesn't ask how you're doing--two minutes and out the door every 6 months. Didn't even ask about a 50 pound weight loss. Made one phone call to his office in two months and nobody wants to bother to adjust treatment orders.

Dr. Balm spent a lot of time with me and seems very knowledgable. The receptionist is what makes me hesitate to return. She is sarcastic and made me feel very self-conscious, and not just on one occasion.
