I unfortunately received anesthesia from this doctor in the birth of my 3rd child. Besides a significantly delay in getting the epidural - which may be a hospital problem and not his - I was mistreated by him, who spoke to me rudely in the moment of my worst pain in life. He also mistreated the nurses. This man used his power over my vulnerable situation. Disgusting behavior, especially from a doctor, and I can see from these reviews that this is his practice.

My child had died in utero and labor was induced to deliver him stillborn. I was in early labor for three days when it started to pick up. This doctor was called to give me an epidural. A few hours later, the epidural wore off. I was feeling a lot of physical pain and could move my legs, which are you not supposed to be able to do if an epidural is working. This doctor was summoned again. Rather than listen to me when I said I could feel a lot of pain, he acted as though I was insulting him. He said, "Look, I'm, like, really good at this. I am known for having magic hands. In 24 years of doing this, I have only had one epidural fall out, and that woman was morbidly obese." He left. I continued to feel a lot of pain. He was summoned again. He put more anesthesia into the line, but when I asked him to check if the line was still in, he refused. I could still feel pain. He was summoned again, this time dismissing me with, "All pain is personal," and implying that I was… imagining physical pain because my baby had died. Now I was in the worst pain of my life. And I could kick my legs into the air with ease, which again, CANNOT happen if an epidural is working. The nurses became concerned that I was in so much physical pain I would be too exhausted to push when the time came. They called him and made him put the line in again. What do you know, it worked. No apology. Nothing. So he made a grieving woman in the worst pain of her life feel even more pain, for HOURS, because of his ego. Do not go to Sibley if you plan to get an epidural. Heaven forbid you run into this terrible, terrible man.

Under his care, i suffered significant trauma during intubation which resulted in a paralyzed vocal chord.
