Dr. Michael Henry Bar, MD

Outstanding diagnostician. Went years before I met Dr Bar and he established a diagnosis within 2 weeks. Had reviewed years of records even before our first meeting and spent an hour probing and answering questions. Great bedside manner, kind, funny and a great communicator. Always available.

He 'misdiagnosed' my father many years ago and when my father was literally on his death bed, Dr. Bar decided that my father was not his patient because he was not the 'admitting doctor' for that final admission to Stamford Hospital.

I am sure this doctor is smart, but he showed no compassion for a long-time patient who died under his care. I was shocked by how he left this patient to die -- relegating his care, and important decisions about it, to be taken up by other hospital physicians who had little to no relationship with the patient. This patient had trusted Dr. Bar very much, and was abandoned by him at the most crucial time. I will never forget it, and I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. The patient in question was my father. Dr. Bar contributed to making his death an even more terrible ordeal than it would have been otherwise. I don't usually write reviews of this nature, but it has been three years and I am still angry and upset with Dr. Bar.

Talk about brains and compassion. I wish all doctors were like Dr. Bar.
