This was a yearly check up. Not many questions were asked by me. I was told I was doing good which I liked hearing.

Great doctor

If you want control of your health and body this isn’t the doctor for you. Recommended covid vaccine for liver disease patients…. mRNA is experimental and failed animal testing so not sure what it’s based on. Stares at computer screen for the 5 minute’s he spends with you every 365 days and then acts like he is controlling your body. Go to Cleveland clinic and save yourself the hassle. Toledo Hospital is also brutal and where he performs procedures. A filthy hospital.

I have been a patient for three years. Dr. Basista’s care has been exceptional. Stephanie Lance, CNP, has also provided me with excellent care. Dr. Basista has treated me for non alcohol related cirrhosis. He is concerned with my quality of life issues , my course of treatment, and providing diagnostic services. He answers my questions and his staff provides excellent support. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a Gastroenterologist. James Reilly

Incompetent, negligent, did not care at all about my well being

Dr Basiste is always on time, he take all the time you need answering your questions. His staff is not only"friendly but so very helpful every time I call the office, as well as returning a call with the answer from the doctor regarding a perscription . I would highly recommend Dd. Basista and his office.

I'm 47 now and went to see him when I was 28. I was told at that time that my liver was so full of cirrhosis that I was going to require a transplant within 5 years because mine would not regenerate due to its end-stage state. For years I informed doctors of the diagnosis, whom immediately saw me as either a hypochondriac because of the lack of evidence or an alcoholic trying to hide his addiction. Every time I was sick or with a fever I was limited to how much tylenol or medication I could be given, based on his diagnosis alone. Have woken up each day to look at the whites of my eyes wondering if this was the day that I noticed they had turned yellow and that my liver was failing...and it was all bologna. My liver is fine and always has been. Do I blame him or the needle biopsy done at St Anne's for the mess up? Either way, he talked down to me when I asked questions and mentally scarred me for the last 20 years with worrying over nothing.
