Dr. Michael J Bates

I went to this dentist because I had an abscess in my bottom front gum. I was in a lot of pain over the weekend and was excited to get in on Monday. When I went in he looked at my mouth for less than 30 seconds and told me I had an infection. He then has me lean back and looks inside my mouth for another 30 seconds. In that short time he apparently thought I needed to see a specialist (who happens to come to his office every week). He said there was no point in filling my cavity, doing a cleaning, or deep cleaning or any starter work because I would likely lose teeth anyway. I'm not even 30 years old. He was very cold and rude. He said that "being compassionate wouldn't do me any favors." He acted like I was lying when I said I had poor genetics when it came to my teeth and that I was making efforts to improve my dental health. He said "I don't care about that". I do need some dental work and I know I have gingivitis. I do not believe there is no hope for me. I wanted to try less… expensive options before going straight to specialists. He did not seem care about me as a person. I was just a person who he could push off the someone else and try and get me to spend thousands on unnecessary work. He just wanted to gouge me and never touch me again. I left feeling disrespected, conned, scammed, and in tears. corporate scam artist

Dr. Bates is an excellent dentist. I am his patient for over 15 years. He always listens to my concerns and is very gentle.
