Dr. Michael Bender, MD

Dr. Bender provided excellent care. I had a shoulder replacement three months ago. I have not had any pain. I have my motion back and I am working on strengthening my arm! Dr. Bender and his team are phenomenal! They will be dedicated to you and give you the best care!

Dr. Bender is a fantastic physician. He combines excellent diagnostic skills with an affable personality that immediately inspires confidence and put me at ease at my first visit. Although I am a physician, Dr. Bender didn't presume anything and took all the time necessary to make sure I understood my diagnosis. He also treated my wife (who is non-medically trained, unless you consider band-aids and hugs) with enormous respect. She appreciated how he explained my problem to her in a way she understood so patiently. Having dealt with surgeons for more than 30 years, Dr. Bender is an exceptional find for a fellowship-trained upper extremity orthopedist. If you want to see, a "doctor's" recommended physician look no further. He is an outstanding specialist and human being who treats you like a family member. Dr. Bender's referral to Scott Hamersly, Director of PT was a perfect compliment. It is clear they communicate about patients and are on the same page (not always possible with… other group arrangements using free-standing facilities). Scott is a gifted PT and communicator. My visit with him took an hour without any wasted time. I appreciated his initial assessment to determine the degree of pathology for my unusual condition. His explanations were superb. And he carefully assessed my daily activities to set realistic goals and prescribe a course of treatment unique to my set of needs. I left impressed and would recommend this outstanding medical practitioner to anyone who needs help with PT. It probably is taking coals to Newcastle to say that Dr. Bender and Scott live up to their reputations as the best in Indy.

I was extremely lucky to see Dr. Bender at Methodist Sports Medicine for my partially torn bicep. He spent the time to listen what happened, my situation and activities and he prescribed a recovery plan. The follow up and the entire staff were great. I highly recommend him.
