I have had Dr. M. Benedict as my primary doc. He is kind, And an exceptional doc. He knows his stuff. I trust him completely with my health and care.

Dr. Benedict knows his stuff, and in Tricities, I dont think you could find a better GP., and that is probably why he is almost impossible to get an appointment with. One has to plan their illness 3-6 months in advance. However, his office staff leaves a lot to be desired. Example: I tried for three months to get a perscription refilled with zero success. No call backs, twice I was told it would be taken care of and it wasn't. Finally, I went in for a physical, so he asked a lot of health related questions, that I answered, including, "is there anything else you (I) can think of." Well, "yes, my perscription refilled for a cream you (he) prescribed for a skin condition. "No problem", he said, and sure enough, I got what I needed -- and what I didn't need. My insurance pays 100% for an annual physical, but a month later i get a bill from his office chaging me for a regular office visit. Long story short, I was billed for an office visit because of the medical questions and… his fulfilling my 3-month delayed perscription refill that he and his office couldn't do over the phone. After much back and forth, he removed the charge, but it was expressed as though he was doing me a favor. You see, when someone joins the medical group, we sign a document that authorises them to charge us for services, without nitification, that they deem medically necessary. I've sense changed doctors, and I ask throughout an examination now, if there will be any additional charges beyond the expected office visit. If so, I want to discuss the medical purpose of the charges and why they are extra. No problems since I started doing that. The office organization still sucks, the practice is ran by doctors, not retail salesmen who care about customer service, so expect to feel like you don't matter, and you are an inconvenience to the staff. However, the nurses are awesome!

Dr. Benedict has cared for my family of four for four years now, helping us with everything from mental health issues to torn ACLs. He always listens to what we are saying and what we don't say. His assistant Ty is the best! I have recommended him to everyone.
