Dr. Michael Joseph Biavati, MD

The pediatric ENT performed the ear tube procedure on my son, and since then, he has experienced complications. Despite scheduling a visit over the phone and being told our appointment was today, the requirement for an ear test before seeing the doctor was not communicated to us. Although we arrived on time, the staff refused to let the doctor see our son. Their lack of professionalism was glaring throughout the entire process—from the communication mishap regarding appointments to the refusal to accommodate our son's needs. This experience has left us deeply disappointed, and I strongly advise against choosing this place due to their unprofessional conduct. The staff's behavior made my wife feel discriminated against and was extremely rude. DOCTOR BIAVATI please hire new staff. They are going to ruin your reputation and destroy your business.

MOMS BEWARE!! I read all the reviews on Google for doctor Biavati after I was recommended to him by my pediatrician. The low review rating made me nervous, but as we were advised by our doctor we went ahead as we needed to figure out if my daughter needed tubes. You will spend about 5 minutes (or less) total with this doctor. He does not see you until all the testing is done (which seems normal and adequate). He comes in at the end of the appointment to help steer you in what direction is best (in our case it was tubes). We scheduled the tubes for the following week and felt really good about everything. The morning of her surgery Dr. Biavati was about an hour late (not a great start, but things happen). It would seem he has surgeries most of the day in a process I now describe like cattle branding on an assembly line. There are a bunch of babies waiting for their 15 minutes with the doctor. He will (very) briefly come over after the baby is finished with surgery to do about a 30… second check in before he rushes off to the next child. Its exactly like a factory, and an expensive one at that. In my experience, he charges about $1100-$1500 for his role in the tube surgery. We have a very high deductible so it was important to me to know what the real cost of these things were. That is an exorbitant of money for the amount of face time/follow-up you will get. Further, I was told tubes are an extremely low-risk procedure. While this is likely the case, let me be perfectly clear here, if you do have any issue don't count on Biavati! My daughter came home and began to bleed from the ear and nose. Very concerning. Except I couldn't get in touch with the doctor. Only the On-Call person (possibly a doctor although not entirely sure) was available to tell me I just needed to go to the ER. The on-call person will not problem solve with you. They are just limiting liability. They will really only tell you to head on to the ER. He even expressed that Biavati perhaps nicked and artery. The On Call doctor sounded the way you would sound if a telemarketer was calling you, annoyed and hasty to end the call. This was extremely upsetting to me. As a mom I wasn't sure we were at the 'head to the ER' place yet. It didn't seem severe and I wasn't satisfied with his recommendation as he has never had contact with my daughter. I couldn't help but wonder, why have I paid Dr. Biavati so much money and he can't even pick up the phone to help me out here. Instead, I am being told to go to the ER where I will spend much more money (again super high deductible through my husbands company insurance) trying to make sure everything is above board. I did not stand for this. I insisted the doctor call me himself as he was the only person who has operated on my daughter. After insisting for almost an hour that he call me, I finally got a call from an unknown number. It was Dr. Biavati. I calmly explained what was going on and he suggested that I try Afrin (a nasal spray) in the nose and ear to help control the bleeding. Low and behold, it worked! No ER, nothing. And the surgery appears to have been successful despite the hiccup. However, the hoops I had to jump through to get this guy on the phone were ridiculous. I understand he can't be available to all 24/7 and that an on-call person (aka gate keeper) is necessary. But sometimes it is warranted. Don't be a mom who accepts this treatment from Doctors. We pay a lot of money to these guys. The best part is after all of this, the surgery center called me over and over trying to get this figured out. The surgery center, Parkhill Pediatric Surgery Center did everything they could. They kept reaching out and trying to make sure everything was okay. Biavati would not reach out, never checked in on Eva, nothing. Maybe he is a good doctor, maybe she just didn't clot correctly, maybe he did mess something up and it was an easy fix? These are all things I don't know. Here is what I do. If you go to this doctor and have a problem you are going to have an even bigger one trying to get this guy involved.

I want to give a BIG shout out to Dr. Michael J Biavati, and the whole team over at Cook Children's Surgical Center in Plano. My son had his tonsils and adenoids removed last Friday and everyone in that building was WONDERFUL! Not only were they good that day but I have received at least two calls a day since Friday from the "team" checking up on my son and his progress! What a positive experience!!!!!!

called to make an appointment got rude receptionist who does not care. Am new patient. Receptionist seems very angry wand want you off the phone asap.

We heard that the front office support was bad from family and friends. However, we thought these were isolated occurances. Dr. Biavati came highly recommended from our peditiation, so we felt that the office staff could not be as bad as described. Dr. Biavati himself was great, but the expeience with his staff was by far enough to make us seek out another ENT if needed in the future. Calls were not returned, before and after the surgery, perscriptions were not "emailed" to our pharmacy and when you could finally make contact with someone, it always turned argumentitive. Not a pleasant experience at all. It is unfortunate that such a knowledgable and friendly doctor allows his staff to deliver such an awful cusotmer experience.

Staff does not answer phone calls or pushes to another extension where voicemail answers but no call back even after several days.

Dr. Biavati chooses to practice at Cook Children's in Plano. Their billing office has been a fiasco - one screw-up after another. Now they are sending our account to collections after we are all paid up. What a nightmare! Dr. Biavati has an awesome reputation, but when will doctors learn that their reputation is tainted when they choose to associate with facilities that treat patients so horribly? Shame on Cook Children's for being so difficult to work with, and shame on any doctor who chooses a surgery center without caring about how it treats people.

Very nice and easy going yet amazingly accurate. He tries to do everything to keep your child out of surgery and avoid any further complications for the sake of the child. Really works for the childs best interest, not his pocket book. It's hard for me to find a good pediatrician. I'm lucky to have him as one of our specialists.
