Dr. Michael Aquilina Bruno, MD

Dr. Bruno is the best doctor I have ever had. He listens to me when I talk and doesn't just rush through the appointment like other docs do. He is very knowledgeable and caring. I highly recommend him.

First meeting Dr. Bruno I was in a lot of pain from past injuries. As an older man who had been without treatment because of a loss of private insurance I had admittedly made one mistake prior to seeing him. After that was corrected and I came back within 10 minutes I was prescribed pain medicine on a schedule I had never had before. But I agreed to it as long as I was able to access a pain management program. Having went thru many many different treatments prior to seeing him. I guess I wasn't prepared for how different the VA treats patients and the limits that where available. After six months and not hearing anything or getting anywhere with the pain management program. I had due to my ignorance of having signed some type of pain contract within the new patient paperwork violated this agreement. I had stopped taking these pills 4 or 5 times day for about 7 or 8 days prior to going in. I had informed of this and when this medicine didn't show up in my system, though by that time I… had started back on them. He told me that the VA's belief was that I was selling them. In shock I let him know I had the prescription with me and that please count these things. With no interest in this whatsoever I was cut off immediately. It was not explained to me that not taking these even when you may be able to go without for a little while was still violating the contract that I had signed. Ignorance is not bliss and I have to take part of the blame. My rating is based on the complete ridiculous statements that he HAD to stop prescribing regardless of having every bit of that prescription . And that the new laws out his license in jeapordy which is absolutely false. He never sat and explained the pain contract that I unknowingly signed and misunderstood. I though it was something for not overusing this medicine. He never did a medical workup on me prior to prescribing. Which IS a violation of the laws itself. Did not want the 3 inch stack of medical records I had brought in initially. And did not get me into a pain management program. I am a grown man with two young boys, who has lost jobs due to this injury. I live in constant worry of loosing my home and my kids due to not being able to stay going and working without missing work. Though I do not completely blame him. I do however believe his knee-jerk reaction and failure to understand how all this happened is outrageous. The VA after numerous trips to the advocates have changed their story many times as to why this can't be rectified. The laws governing pain medicine was to shut down Pill Mills not label people such as myself as drug dealers "the docs words not mine". The VA is abusing the system unless they consider themselves a pill mill. Sure I was ignorant to how and what I signed and the system for treatment. But there is responsibility on the doctor and office manager to be darn sure someone new to all of this is educated and understands what to do and not do. Since my complaints his office manager has misled misread my medical history. Just plainly misleading those that have inquired about this. But once they looked at my history they have seen that what the office manager said was misleading. Yet it's the VA and they want you off this stuff what happens to you after is of no consequence to them. Trust when I say I do not write this with maliciousness in my heart. Learn and pay attention

Dr. Bruno is a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. I am glad he is my doctor.

egregiously unprofessional and unthetical

Dr.Michael Bruno is my doctor at the shively medical clinic on dixie highway. Dr. Michael Bruno has treated me with the best care any doctor can, treated a patient. My physical condition has improve under his excellent care as a primary care doctor. He has shown me completed patience and compassionate feelings as my doctor. He is a wonderful doctor who really wants his patient to feel safe and secure while he is their doctor.
