Dr. Michael C Buben, DO

Dr. Buben is not seeing any new patients, so I saw his PA, Sherry Franks, which was an altogether great experience. I was admitted to Willapa Harbor Hospital, where I saw Dr. Buben. He was very courteous and seemed to have things under control.

I went to Dr. Buben for right leg thigh pain. In the six office visits I had with him, he never once looked at my leg or had any test done. Each time he would sit down, get out his prescription pad and write me one for pain pills, after 6 to 7 months of being on the pain pills I started to get addicted to them and had with drawls after I quit taking them. I would never use him for a doctor again, I have switched to a different doctor.

My father used Dr. Buben when during his bout with Alzheimer's. I was with my father when he was at Dr. Buben's. At every visit every time, I found Dr. Buben to be kind with him, courteous, and willing to listen to my observations of how my father was doing. When my father's condition worsened, he went out of his way to get him in the care facility here in town. He seems brusque with other family members but they were only offering opinions about my father's condition; I take this to be that Dr. Buben wants facts and what is observable rather than opinions and what is not observable. That being said, he took the time to explain to the family the stages of what my father was going through, as well as what to expect in the future, and why. He was right on points that mattered the most. Overall, Dr. Buben is what you see on television when they portray a country doctor, something the healthcare profession needs more of.

Dr. Buben takes very little time with me. He needs to ask more questions and listen closely to the answers and do follow up examinations or send out to a specialist.
