Our daughter, 15 years old, had Dr. Byun successfully perform a Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty. From the initial appointments to now, we have experienced nothing but kindness, professionalism and pure surgical precision. We are so happy we found Dr. Byun and the staff. Our daughter had a deviated septum, and it was quite difficult to breathe, she had congestion and experienced headaches. She experiences none of these anymore. She was also bullied for the shape of her nose. She now walks with so much confidence and pride. Dr. Byun is amazing and we would highly recommend him for any surgery/procedure.

Extremely pleased with Dr. Byun and staff. I wasn’t a face self care person, no sunscreens or wrinkle creams etc. Since menopause hit, my consequences were becoming very noticeable. Age spots, disgusting wrinkles, crepey skin, etc Dr. Byun spent lots of quality time with me explaining my options and educating me. I saw before and after photos of other patients, which clearly proved Dr. Byun’s artistic genius! I was given a treatment plan which was comfortable for ME. After only 3 visits I feel 5 years younger already!!! The botox is of better quality so lasts much longer than others I’ve tried. Nurse Lauren and the aesthetician were wonderful, making sure all my questions were answered and that I was very comfortable. Calming my nerves. I felt heard, understood, pampered and “in good hands”. This team is definitely set apart and worth the loot!!! Lovely facility!

My journey in restoring my face began in my late forties after my kids told me i looked angry. Looking  in a mirror again and again I realized I have started looking like my late grandmother. I looked tired  and unhappy. I was not aging gracefully! I found a great doctor who started injecting me with sculptra and Botox.  I was one of the first sculptra patients and my face looked amazing. However after injecting for 15 years, I found myself with an aging sagging face and eyes. My face lost its definition and just looked shapeless and round. My doctor told me there is nothing else  she could do.  I was about to accept this verdict because the alternative would be a face lift. I thought I would never have a facelift. The reason being that majority of women that I have seen after their face lift, looked like a stretched out puppet. I wasn’t happy how I looked but there was no alternatives that I could think of at the time. One day I was reading a Chicago magazine editorial on the top… plastic surgeons in Chicago. I was fascinated by Dr. Byun’s method: muscle restoration first and then draping the skin over the restored muscle, instead of just stretching the skin, like a puppet face. This method totally made sense to me. After I read more about Dr. Byun and his experience in muscle restoration, I have met with Dr. Byun. I felt so completely confident in his skills that I decided to do a complete face restoration. I have never looked back. From someone who was anti plastic surgery to someone who decided to do a complete face restoration, Dr. Byun changed my perception of the procedure.   Everything that comes with and after surgery was as expected from the descriptions by Dr. Byun’s staff. It was a long journey of recovery but Dr. Byun and his  staff held my hand through this process  and were always available to me, always kind to listen, talk, and assure, to inspire and encourage. It would not be the same without each one of the beautiful people who work with Dr. Byun. Recovery is an important part of the process because there is a lot of pain, discomfort, post surgery insecurities  and fears. Through all that, I had a wholehearted knowledgeable support of Dr. Byun and his staff who always found time and attention for me whenever I had a panic attack or just needed some reassurance that I will look normal.  And of course the star of the show is Dr. Byun!  He is first of all an amazing human being who listens to his patients’ concerns, gives them as much time as needed and always looks out for his patient’s best interests. Dr. Byun is not only highly skilled plastic surgeon but he is also a psychologist who has wonderful bedside manners. He is friendly,  kind, understanding, an attentive listener who will analyze a patient’s concerns and always explain pro and con of a particular procedure.  Dr. Byun is also an artist, he understands artistic  harmony,  esthetics, balance and  the wholistic, final effect of a surgery on a person life. This combination of skills makes him standout from the majority of surgeons.  It has been almost one year after my surgery, I’m starting to feel more like myself and more! I was inspired to lose weight, to be more creative as an artist and as a lawyer. I feel more confident as a woman. Most of my life I was focusing on improving my inner self, my talents, my intellect. I thought that having a plastic surgery would be superficial and shallow. However, after Dr. Byun’s skillful surgery/restoration, I am more inspired to become a better person in all areas of my life and I feel there are no boundaries to what I can achieve.  I am grateful to Dr. Byun for all his magical work and for elevating my life to a whole new unexpected level.  Y.K

I want to look my best - don't we all? I exercise, diet, keep up with the latest in skin care and beauty trends. So when it comes to finding a cosmetic surgeon I want the best too. I mean, it's pretty darn close to permanent and there is absolutely no way I'm going to leave the fate of my appearance with just anyone! Over 10 years ago, I spoke with several doctors regarding a cosmetic procedure. Not a single one of them took the time to explain process. Not a single one - other than Dr Byun. He never made me feel rushed. He never suggested additional work, in fact he talked me out of a rhinoplasty I've wanted since my teens. And he took the time to explain the science behind everything, each step and why one method would be better than another. He's not just a surgeon, this man is an artist. 10 years ago I chose Dr Byun end never regretted it. 10 years down the road I find myself ready for another procedure, and once again, did my due diligence of talking to several surgeons and once… again, Dr Byun comes out ahead in each and every way. I contacted one clinic where the consultation was conducted over the phone with an assistant. Wrapping up the call, the assistant asked if she could book my surgery the following week. Flabbergasted with both the timing and the lack of doctor at the consultation, I asked her if I would meet the doctor before my procedure and she responded with "you'll meet him day of. I can take your payment for the surgery whenever you're ready." Hold up. DAY OF??? What if I'm not a suitable candidate for the surgery I want? (spoiler alert: I wasn't suitable for part of it). What if I'm not comfortable with the doctor himself? After all I will be unconscious and nakey around him. Why haven't you asked about any of my medical history and medications? And why is this doctors schedule so open? Even my tattoo artist has a 3 month wait list. This clinic was ready to see you ASAP. Was it cheaper than Dr Byun? Absolutely. Am I glad I didn't go? Also absolutely. I find it ironic how, in the pursuit of improvement or perfection we can be so quick to gloss over the safety and quality of results in favor of cheaper and faster procedures. Do yourself a favor, research your doctors, research the procedures, ask all the right questions and ask your doctors to show you their work. Not just after the surgery but months down the line. Remember that this is something fairly permanent and if it seems too good to be true it is. And if you're too busy/tired/lazy to research, I've done it for you. Dr Byun is the one - the Michelangelo of cosmetic surgery.

I wish I went elsewhere. If I could do it all over again I would have gone to Dr. Anil Shah. His price is much more affordable. Dr. Byun is very friendly. However I want a great surgeon, not just a nice guy. Big mistake. Ruined my life

I had an appt with Dr. Michael Byun Aug 2020, to get a Kenalog 40 Shot for which I was told I will need about 3-4 shots and each will cost me $750 per session. Innocently, I went ahead with the appt and got the first shot for which I paid $750. I subsequently spoke with other plastic surgeons (both in the Chicago area, Atlanta and New York) who have told me that the Kenalog 40 shot cost ranges between $50 - $200 per shot. I reached back out to the Dr. Byun to ask why I was being charged such a high amount. At first I was told that was their cost and subsequently the doctor and his team became unresponsive. I left a message with his office saying I was going to let the world know that he is a fraud and that he should refund me my monies. Nothing!!!!! I did not receive a call back from the Doc or his team and so I went ahead and posted my negative review. Today, I just got a call from the doctors assistance asking if I was coming for my next appt which is tomorrow 9.24.2020. … Of course I replied no! She then proceeded to tell me that they was a misunderstanding about my sessions and that my next Kenalog shot was to be part of the $750 that I had paid. I responded saying that I was told, via an email sent from the doctors office on their fees, that the Kenalog 40 shot was $750 per shot. So, I have this in writing. I went further to say that have already gotten my second shot from another plastic surgeon (Affiliated with Northwestern Hospital Downtown Chicago) and was charged only $200 for it. Also, two shots at a rate of $200 will come to only $400 which is still much higher than the $750 I had paid. The caller then proceeded to tell me that the additional amount I paid was for the doctor's expertise and experience. I responded saying that was *bullsh*t. The doctor that gave me my shot was also certified and experienced and only charged me $200 (expertise and drug inclusive). She returned, that unfortunately there is nothing else that she can do and I can do whatever I want. So, I have taken the time to write this review to let everyone know about this doctor and his practices. This is malpractice to trick a patient to pay you such an amount for something that is way cheaper elsewhere. To not make good and fix the problem. I'm sorry but Dr. Michael Byun is not a good person and definitely not an honorable one. We all need monies but we all also work hard for our monies. so my message to the good doctor is .... STOP TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOUR PATIENTS DR. BYUN!!!!!!
