Arrogant, did not listen, zero empathy, no accountability.

Dr. Michael Carney did my wife's surgery and her incision sites got infected. I took her to urgent care and left a message with Dr. Carney. He never got back to her about infection. I give him a poor rating because he never followed up with her.

I was referred by my gynecologist who recommended after my diagnosis to see doctor Carney, she made the appointment herself and asked doctor Carney to see me, after the first appointment he told me I would need surgery to removed the cancer, two weeks later he did! The medical center was so amazing, everyone treated me with kindness and compassion. Doctor Carney was always kind! Thank you for saving my life now I’m cancer free thanks to you! Thank to all the nurses and technicians at the surgery floor, you are amazing!

to have had such a brilliant Specialist surgeon .. He was kind and encouraging , I was so scared , and had a lot of questions and would call him , he always returned my calls even on saturdays , explaining things .. and never showed impatience , what we noticed is that he works so hard from early morning until late .. I am so grateful that God directed me to him .. he is very experienced in what he is doing .. and an expert actually in the field of DA VINCI LAPAROSCOPIC ROBOTIC SURGERY ..

I was referred to Dr. Carney for an extensive surgery I require for my severe reoccurent Endometriosis. I had spoken with other women who also had seen him for Endometriosis and I was warned he was not the Dr to see for this but I went anyways as he is one of the only options in Hawaii. Unfortunately, the women were right and he was definitely not the Dr to see for Endometriosis. He had a vague understanding of the complexities of the disease, his bedside manner was horrible, he treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about and didn't believe me when I told him what I have already tried and been through. He didn't have any viable options or suggestions and flat out told me he would not do the surgery. He was rough when doing a pelvic exam and left me in severe pain for several days. On top of the horrible experience with him, he also had showed up 2 hours late for our appt. He was late coming back from vacation, which in turn caused me to change my flights and incure… additional fees. He spent maybe 5-10 minutes with me, when I was promised a 1-2 hour appt. My entire experience has been one of the worst I have ever encountered and I have been dealing with this disease for 20 years now and seen countless doctors. I wouldn't recommend any women with Endometriosis see Dr. Michael Carney!

Thank you Dr Michael Carney for instilling the hope in me necessary to save my life. Forever grateful. Mahalo You diagnosed me with Stage 4 Cervical cancer in 2012. Dr. Carney is an excellent gynecological oncologist. Very compassionate and caring physician who took very good care of me in the operating room. I was referred to the best and received ONLY the BEST care from a wonderful doctor. Thank you Dr. Carney!!! (BTW: Excellent care received at the Kapiolani Surgicenter Recovery Dept.) He was thorough, efficient, and had excellent beside manner with our daughter's procedure.

Dr Carney gave us hope and fight. I am a stage 4 fallopian tube cancer survivor going 6 yrs out. Everyone else said survival was impossible. I could not have done it without him.
