Dr. Michael R Chiarottino, MD

I know all about the things that happened over the last five years with Dr. Chiarottino. With that said, Dr. Chiarottino saved my life. I went to see him when going through a drug resistant serious depression. Dr. Chiarottino and I discussed what was a new drug (long time ago) called lamotrigine. At that point lamotrigine wasn't as popular as it is now. We discussed it and all it's effects and I chose myself to go on it. Within a short period of time my suicidal thoughts went away. I have been on the medication since. Most pain doctors just write you a prescription but Dr. Chiarottino treated me as a person and not a number. We would talk about what was going on in my life in regards to what might be causing pain increase or decrease. No one ever did that or cared to know anything. Say what you want but he did save my life. I will never ever forget how he saved my life and took the time to listen. In the past no one ever cared or since.

This doctor, unlike most, spends time diagnosing and trying to figure out with you what best route to take to deal with whatever ails you. Free of preconceptions and value judgements, he cares about his patients and ensures that their needs are met. He spends an average of at least one hour with his patients. He is a truly rare case among the practicing doctors.

My name is Chris Schneider and this Doctor has always listened and treated me fair and I wouldn't say I'm a model patient. That never caused him to treat me any other way than AWESOME!!! I wish more Doctors had his gifts. Thank You Dr. Chiarottino for helping get my life back.You are the BEST!!!

150$ a visit is quite a ton of money for the typical marin person. But when it comes to your well being and health, money wins. it always does if you dont have the cash you arent getting help. Dr. Mike doesnt accept insurance and gives you a clear understanding about how he feels about insurance companies. But when it comes to the patients mental health he cant even work with you financially. Almost like the DMV type of atmosphere. I am not here to convince you to not see Dr. Mike but if your financially unstable dont even think about it. I personally needed 1 more month of my medication just so i could relocate my self to a different doctor. Dr mike wouldnt even okay the prescription just until my relocation to a different county was complete. The problem with us human beings is not just the money, its the lack of unity and by expressing our selves through these reviews, i hope to give people an understanding to help others even if your a rich doctor. Real talk. Before you see a… doctor get a feeling for what kind of person they are , there not all there for you.

He's a good doc but at times it seems he only cares about money. we argue a lot of about my treatment and he's apathetic and arrogant treating people as if they were to have done things different than wouldn't be in the situation we, the patient, are in. I feel like he was fed with a silver spoon when young and tend to put patients down.

This Doctor is absolutely wonderful. He is professional, knowledgeable, caring and patient. He is one of those people can one cannot bullsh*t therefore once the patient spills out it story this Doctor will go beyond the call of the duty to help his patient to get on the right track. I found myself in a terrible situation that had taken over my life and all I wanted was to die...I called him, then showed up at his office. He dropped everything to assist me and made sure that I was safe before he got back to his business. To top it all he refused that I paid him for the consultation. He is not money driven but results driven. I trust him more than any other Docs I have seen and I have seen a lot of them (Have had over 20 surgeries in 5 years). This person taught that only the truth can save someone but only if that someone is treated by the right Doctor. Thank you for all that you have done for me and at the same time for my family. I wish that Doctors like you would spend some time… during their career, teaching other Doctors how to be the best that they can be rather than constantly focusing on their bank account. I could never thank you enough and I look forward to seeing regularly for many more years to come as I am not sure how I would be able to control the pain without your approach, your patient and your knowledge.

good doctor, nice guy, very understanding but realistic. I was severely addicted to drugs when I met this guy, and he was the only Dr. I was unable to bullsh*t. He got me on the right track, though I didn't realize it at the time, and I owe a lot to this guy. Been sober a year and a half, and it all started with this guy. I still see him to check in here and there. Only complaint is his tendency to run late with appointments.
