Don't expect them to call you, email you or follow up with you. I wonder how they survived.

I called the office for multiple times a day over the period of a month. The phone line is either busy, or no one is on the phone. When I finally reach an assistant, they say they are going to find my information and call me back. Never got a call back. Then I repeat my practice of calling multiple times a day for another two weeks. Finally reached another assistant. They say their online system is down and they would call me back later. Never got a call back. It seems like I will never get my colonoscopy. I can't imagine what's gonna happen if I have serious problem, such as cancer. Cancer can't wait.

Office staffs are very nice and professional. They helped me even I walked in without an appointment. The waiting time was much shorter than I expected. Dr Chu go through all my problems very patiently and explained the treatment plan very clearly.

Had a colonoscopy done by Dr. Michael Chu. Had a polyp removed. While cauterizing the area where the polyp was removed, the cauterizing tip got stuck to the wound area as Dr. Chu pulled away. I didn't think much about it at the time. A few days later, I had to be rush to the hospital with internal bleeding. The hospital had to call Dr. Chu over and over again, with no response. Finally around 2am, Dr. Chu responded and I was admitted to the hospital. While in the hospital, I had to have a 2nd colonoscopy to repair the damage AND the gastro surgeon found more polyps that Dr. Chu missed. Never once did Dr. Chu follow up with me or visit me in the hospital (I WAS HIS PATIENT). I Googled Dr. Chu afterwards and found nothing but bad reviews. If you are referred to Dr. Chu by your health plan or HMO, DON'T GO TO HIM. Save yourself from pain and possible death.

Very pleasant and capable

Took my father a couple times to see Dr.Chu. Dr.Chu always had him waiting 15-20 mins out in the waiting room before being called in. Once we were in a privatee room, we waited another 15-20 minutes for Dr.Chu to come inside. Once inside, Dr.Chu would come in unprepared. Even though he had a full report of why we were there(usually post hospital emergency visit), he would see us without reading the hospital report. He would ask why we were there and we told him post hospital visit. He would leave the room to go read the report and come back after 10-15 minutes. He would also take personal calls while in the room with us. SO RUDE! and instead of knocking before coming inside the room, he would just walk in. After all tests that the Dr could think of were performed on my father, Dr.Chu just laughed and told us "what do you want me to do?" That was the last straw. DO NOT see this "Doctor." Waste of time and money. We went to him because he is a "specialist" but little did he help us. If… I could give him 0 stars I would.

I had to have an endoscopy and was referred to this doctor. It was the worst medical experience of my life. He was late for the procedure, put on a gown but did no glove up; did not explain procedure or what was going to happen. I was given only minimal medication which had no effect. Chu approached me with black tubing and just shoved it down throat, oblivious to my pain and trauma. I was gagging and choking, tears running down my face. He did not apologize and finally pulled out the tube. I was taken to a recovery area and after 10-15 mins the nurse came and said iI was fine and could go. I never saw Chu again. A one paragraph report was mailed to me that said I handled the procedure well. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR he is the worst!

Dr. Chu is one of the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot). He responds to my thoughts from my experiences and never talks down to me. He is great in that he understands that although sometimes surgery is necessary, it should always be the last option.

Dr. Chu is in the office two days a week -- on Monday and Friday. If you don't get to him on Monday -- or if he does not respond to a pharmacy request, which happens very frequently, you are out of luck until Friday. Most recently, he took two weeks to refill a routine prescription, and only after repeated telephone calls and faxes from the pharmacy and several phone calls from me. He does not seem to be interested in patients -- expressing little interest in their problems and offering no advice or suggestions. We will not be returning to him.
