Dr. Michael Mark Coriale, MD

I had a terrible fall at a restaurant when my throat closed, blacked out, and fell head first out of my chair. Dr. Coriale would only do a lung x-ray to be sure I didn't have something there that I choked on. My daughter and grandson explained to him how hard I fell but he refused to listen even when they said I appeared to be seizing or convulsing. They know what that looks like! When I asked him for a CT Scan because I was flying 5 days later, he looked at me twice saying, "I'm not worried about your head." Even though he didn't ask. but I told him and the nurse I was having intermittent head pain, he wrote on my chart note 'denied headache' and did not write about my fall. The nurse listened and included a sheet on concussions! Three days later after telling them I would, got a CT Scan in MD. Now that I am home, my Rheumatologist (for my Lupus) and GP are determined to find out what happened, and are sending me through many tests. I have been telling doctors for over 20 years that I… have a problem with choking, swallowing, etc. Now we are on the road to discovering my esophagus has an issue that may need surgery. Nothing went down my throat that night, but my brain was without oxygen for a short time. After 5 weeks, I am still reeling from the effects of a concussion! I'm 67 and know my body, so he did not need to 'pull rank' on me! He thought I was diagnosing myself, and he got indignant with me!

I would definitely chose this doctor again. He is sweet and very caring. He is an asset to the medical community.
