Dr. Michael Joseph Dacey, MD

My daughter had very pneumonia and sepsis and Dr. Dacey (and the nurses) treated both very aggressively and very successfully. We felt fully informed at all times. Great hospital also.

In Kent Hospital ICU, Dr Dacey only saw patients from the doorway. I never saw him place his hands, stethoscope, or eyes on patients from the bedside. He did examine chest x-rays(no other medical imaging studies), laboratories, and the notes from other physicians. His notes incorporated what nurses documented on their notes and what others said on rounds(again, from outside patient rooms). He, of course, coded Critical Care time on daily coding sheets. Other physicians and physician assistants always included in their notes this phrase: "The physical examination WHICH I PERFORMED MYSELF."

His idea of examining patients: Looking at them from the bedside, reviewing their chest x-rays(only, not other x-rays), reading notes from nurses, and looking at lab reports.

What do you say about someone who saved your life? He was so knowledgable about caring for someone in a critical state and he was there for my family. He showed his care and concern during a terrifying time in our lives. I will be forever grateful to him.
