Dr. Michael Eric Deitz, MD

Excellent at surgery, provided a good review and clearly explained my. Situation.

I have had several unique and abnormal eye conditions since the late 1990's. Detached retina etc... My surgeon in Portland only trusted Dr. Deitz to perform my follow up. Subsequent to the retina issue I had two other complications over the last ten years. Dr. Deitz just sold out of the practice he was not fired. I am waiting until he practices some where again, otherwise I will be driving to Portland. His bedside manner is just "frankness" not anything nasty or cold. He is a great doctor.

This doctor was the best. He didn't have the best bedside manners, but you knew you could trust that he provided the best care for your eyes. He accurately diagnosed a problem I had but referred me to a retina specialist for a second opinion to be sure. I wish I knew where he went; I'd drive out of town for his services.

This doctor has provided exceptional care to multiple family members for many years. Great doctor, great surgeon. He wasn't a jovial outgoing type, but really knew his stuff. When I went to schedule an appointment I was told that he was no longer there. There was an announcement in the paper stating that he had not retired. Someone told me that he had sold the practice and had been fired by the new owner. I would appreciate it if someone could post where he can be found.

I mistakenly showed up with no appointment, saw Dr. Dietz within 15 minutes anyway, because he had a bit of time between other patients. A bit gruff, but thorough and capable. As an aside, I asked about progressive lenses, and he asked about my occupation, shared his experience, made a recommendation that was excellent (and not the most expensive option.) I understand that he has left Columbia River Eye Center: so, where is he?
