Dr. Michael William Devereaux, MD

In 1988, my leg was beginning to lose feeling and strength---I had been misdiagnosed initially by one doctor, which caused a five week delay. Then other doctors said it looked like a tumor. I started asking every medical person I knew who they thought was the best neurologist in town. Over and over I heard "Michael Devereaux". Through the help of a colleague who knew him personally, I was able to get in to see him the next day. He believed it was a fragmented disk, urgent for surgery because it was damaging the nerve root to my leg. He was right. He referred me to Ben Colombi to do the surgery, and it turned out well; in fact, better than expected. He was so attentive and compassionate, and able to speak plainly about what was going on. He is a skilled, thoughtful physician who brings his whole self to the situation, and this is healing.

Dr. Devereaux is an excellent physician. He has great knowledge in his field of expertise. He goes above and beyond for his patients.He is readily available in times of patient crisis.

I was called after the doctor reviewed my records only to be told that I would be wasting my time seeing him, that I was already seeing the best doctors. The best doctors after years have not been able to find my problem with seizures and debilitating headaches. This is the way the medical system gives up on you after they try the five or six pills in their bag. If they need to spend more than half an hour looking at your case they refer you to another physician because they could be making money on someone else! This has been the same with every specialist I have seen and it is very very frustrating. They just don't care.

Dr Devereaux treated me for over 10yrs until I relocated. He is an excellent doctor who pays attention to details and listens to his patients.
