Dr. Michael Joseph Donovan, MD

Dr Donovan performed gastric sleeve surgery on me. He is very professional, warm and caring. It's been 12 months since my surgery and his post op care is just as great as his pre op. I would highly recommend him.

I recently went to see Dr Michael Donovan at Nambour Hospital to find out what my options were about a gall stone. He was abrupt, rude and completely unprofessional. He began by walking into the consul room and announcing "So your gall bladder's knackered and needs removing." I said I didn't want it removing. He said there were no other options. I said I was sent to discuss my options. He laughed and said my options were to have my gall bladder removed or go home and suffer the pain. I argued that my gall bladder was working perfectly and didn't need removing. He laughed and sniggered and said "If it was working you wouldn't have a stone." I asked about having the stone removed and he said "No point! You'll only get another one." So, I said, the stone can be removed but you're refusing to remove it? He said he'd already given me my options so I could either (and I quote) "Have your gall bladder removed or go away." So I left. He was really nasty to deal with, gave no eye contact and… kept sniggering and laughing the whole time. I believe that this doctor has some serious mental health issues and if you need to go and see him about your gall bladder, unless it's not functioning properly, you DON'T have to have it removed, no matter what he says. But apparently Dr Michael Donovan is so unethical that he is happy to remove perfectly healthy organs. He never asked me about my medical history or my current state of health or what mediation I was on. So his diagnosis and prescribed treatment was incorrect. He is a danger to his patients and shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine. If you go to Nambour Hospital, be careful if you have to see this doctor. I cannot warn anyone enough about how unprofessional, unethical and wrong in his prescribed treatment. Healthy body organs shouldn't be removed EVER.
