This emergency room physician lacked total compassion for my husband who was obviously dying. He listened to his heart and said "Boy is his heart racing" No kidding. That was the only time he touched my husband in the five hours he was in emergency. He paid no attention to the fact that the monitor attached to my husband went red on several occasions. Who was monitoring the monitor??? He sent my husband home with 'nothing clinically wrong' in spite of the fact that he was obviously going into jaundice. He was given a anti-nausea pill but had not vomited since earlier that day at home. My husband died at home less than four hours later. My husband had extensive health records at Marshall Hospital and any Dr. worth his salt would have seen that he had suffered liver failure in the past which could have been what he was suffering from that night. Another staff member mentioned that it looked as though my husband was jaundiced. He was so weak he could not walk out of that emergency room on… his own. There is no excuse to treat anyone with that lack of caring or compassion in spite of the fact that he was no doubt dying. This was Obama care at its best!!!! Let the elderly die but do it at home so they don't have to be admitted to the hospital and cause a lot of unneeded paperwork and maybe a loss of money to the hospital due to lousy Medicare payments to them. I read that this Dr. learned compassion from his own cancer experience. Too bad he did not apply what he learned to a gentle soul who deserved and Earned better.
