If your child has Autism or special needs I would not recommend! Terrible experience and waste of time.

If I could not leave a star I would. If you have a child suffering from anything GI related, and you are referred to Dr. Doughtery-RUN!!! Our experience with him and his nurse Chandana have been a nightmare. Doughtery does not properly update parents of minors or treat the minor accordingly. He will blame the parents for "misunderstanding" things he never said. He will call in medication and not notify you and the instructions are vague. Doughtery does not care about children or their wellbeing. Doughtery does not care about your child. You will also be referred to him without him having any knowledge of why or symptoms. Doughtery will not read mychart for previous results as he does what he wants since he is the medical director. DO NOT have high expectations as he will fail you and your child. Once you express your unhappiness instead of trying to make it right, he will say " You can go to Columbia or Charleston" Don't put you or your child through suffering or waiting with him. Ask… for a different doctor from the start. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN WITH YOUR CHILD!!!! Whether its mild or severe. He is absolutely worthless and makes Prisma Health all together look bad. You should be ashamed Doughtery.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! This dude has absolutely the worst attitude I've ever seen for someone who is supposed to be a caring doctor. He has NO bedside manner, he seems prejudice to me as well. anyone who gives their opinion against his so called educated guess, he treats like a dog. I've complained against him several times, and because he is the director, they let him get away with so many things. He is not for the children, and he feels he's above everybody. He has been proven wrong when it came to my child, over and over again. He has the least concern I've ever seen for patients, and ZERO respect for the parents. All he cares about is getting his way, and he does it because the people in upper management let him. We waited 6 hours on him in the ER because he was the on call Dr, he never showed up to see about the children waiting on him and my child was one of them. He NEVER showed! This man needs to be reprimanded on the highest level.

If words could express the level of hatred I have for this man, this review would be on fire. He has to be the most cold hearted, self absorbed, sorriest excuse for a doctor I have ever encountered. My 18 month old son has been seen by him on 3 different occasions after being diagnosed failure to thrive at his 15 month well check. Dr. Dougherty tried to tell me that my child was perfectly healthy. He told me that my child’s constant diarrhea was nothing more than “toddler’s diarrhea” and that there were no underlying issues. He also tried to tell me that the chronic diarrhea had nothing to do with his poor weight gain, despite other medical interventions. He refused to do any further testing on my child other than a stool sample. When the results of the stool sample returned, with alarming results, he did not call and give them to me. My pediatrician, God bless her, found them in Epic and called to inquire about them. We have since been referred to a new GI specialist at Levine’s… Children Hospital in Charlotte, NC. It is absolutely absurd that I have to drive an hour and a half away to get decent medical care for my son.
