I miss Dr. Draper. I'd much rather be seeing him this pregnancy. He and Rita are the best.

Loved this doctor! My baby was diagnosed with birth defects incompatible with life outside of the womb and Dr. Draper was there through every difficult moment of this hard pregnancy. The birth was miraculous and our son lived a little over an hour partly because of Doctor Drapers care and attention at the birth and with my baby. He was kind, sympathetic, and showed great love and concern for our situation answering the hundreds of questions we had over the course of the pregnancy! I never felt rushed even though his practice is flourishing! His patience with my/our questions and the time he took with me and my husband at each appointment, made us feel patient waiting for him, because I knew he was giving other women the same care as me. After our baby passed away and I went back for my six week follow-up, I had to sit for over an hour and look at all the pregnant mothers and mother's with new babies. It was unbearable, but just part of the pain of mourning even though I wished I could… have been escorted to a different waiting room. When I finally got into the exam room, the nurse asked me when my baby was due (she thought I was just barely pregnant-becauase I was so thin). I was crushed that somehow my file wasn't tagged with a big red flag, signifying "baby just died" warning sign, so she could handle the situation a little bit better. Regardless, of the nurses mistake.....Dr. Draper is simply amazing and I would recommend him to anyone, especially women who have a baby who needs extra love and attention!

I was referred to Dr. Draper with my first pregnancy 5 1/2 years ago. He has been my OB through three pregnancies and I couldn't have been referred to a better physician. He and his staff made me feel very comfortable and were always there to answer my questions. I was as much at ease as possible when pregnant with a high risk pregnancy. I would highly reccommend this Doctor. He works with midwives and between himself and the midwives I always had someone to discuss any questions with. I never felt rushed when I was in the office.

He is the most helpful, sensitive, thoughtful doctor EVER!

My wife was referred to Dr. Draper because our baby was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. Our first meeting with Dr. Draper went ok but everything changed once my wife expressed the concern to keep seeing her regular OB because it was a long drive to Dr. Draper's office. We continually saw both her regular OB and Dr. Draper because of convenience. After that he was completely different. On subsequent visits we had an ultrasound and he told us our baby probably had down-syndrome. He was worried about it because we had an ultrasound right before seeing him and the "tech" did a full comprehensive ultrasound in 15 mins. Once the tech finished she left to have the radiologist look at the results and printed some pictures for us. The pictures we ended up getting were really blurry. The previous ultrasound we had at the same office took 45 mins to do the same ultrasound. It was very apparent that the 2nd ultrasound that took a fraction of the time wasn't done well. I personally… operate medical equipment similar to an ultrasound. If you do not take your time and do it right you can get what are called "artifacts". Artifacts can be distorted images because of motion or shadows. They were obviously rushed and way behind on the day because we had waited for an hour plus just for the ultrasound. Once the tech returned she announced that everything was ok and the radiologist didn't need to look at anything further. Once we got in with Dr. Draper he said that there was a blockage in the intestines that was a sign of down-syndrome. I wondered why if there was a potential diagnosis of down-syndrome why the radiologist or Dr. Draper didn't come look at the live ultrasound to rule out the potential of just a bad scan. He suggested that we do testing to be sure (amniocentesis) or a blood test. We decided as a couple that it didn't matter to us whether our baby had down-syndrome. We would keep him anyway so it didn't matter to us whether we found out at birth or before. Dr. Draper was obviously not pleased with our decision to not investigate further. As the time came around for my wife to be induced we had setup a specific day with Dr. Draper. We received a call about 2 hours before my wife was to deliver (High Risk Delivery) that Dr. Draper had to see his partner's patients in clinic and could not make it to the delivery. In my mind a high risk delivery trumps any clinic visits. At my wife's regular OB we have had our clinic appointments delayed by hours because he was in a delivery. So he passed us off to another doctor who he said could handle the delivery. Well because it was a high risk delivery the doctor we were passed to stepped aside because she didn't feel comfortable with the high risk delivery. Why were we even passed off to a doctor that couldn't handle a high risk delivery? Doesn't make any sense. What a joke. So my wife delivers and they pass our baby directly to the NICU at the University of Utah Hospital. We don't hear any updates on how our baby was doing for 3 hours. Absolutely nothing. The NICU nurses won't tell us anything. Dr. Draper then rolls in at about the 3 hour mark and tells us that the NICU is still working on him but that he was right. He said he thought our baby had down-syndrome. I'm not even sure where to start with this one because it was so unnecessary on so many levels. The timing was terrible and unbelievable. Here we are worried that our baby will even survive the day because of his rare heart defect, and Dr. Draper only wants to tell us that he is right? To tell us our baby has down-syndrome which is not even an immediate concern? Wow! The best part about it is it takes 48 hours to get test results back even confirming that our baby would have down-syndrome. So why would Dr. Draper feel the need to come announce that with no test results? Because he wanted us to know he was right. He didn't even ask how my wife was doing or apologize for missing her delivery. In the end, our baby did not have down-syndrome and is still fighting for his life in the NICU at Primary Children's Hospital pending open heart surgery. What a joke. No doctor should be diagnosis patients without test results to back it up. Especially since our baby didn't even have the condition he claimed.

We were referred to Dr. Draper because our infant had multiple anomalies and needed to be delivered at a hospital that had specific surgical capabilities. Dr. Draper came in at the end of the pregnancy to manage our final few weeks of care and the delivery itself. Dr. Draper went above and beyond in every possible way. He made himself directly available to me. I know he juggled things on his schedule so he could be there for us. He turned a horrifically difficult time for us into one of peace and calm. He was frank without being cruel, honest without a talking over us, and perfectly professional in the delivery room. He was respectful of our wishes and our religious beliefs. He made judgement calls that saved the life of our infant, and when things got rocky during the delivery his quick action prevented major issues from spiraling out of control for me. He stayed calm and focused and seemed about as in control as anyone could be under the circumstances. He worked great with the team… that was in the room.The nurses who checked on me afterward commented multiple times how good things looked, and how lucky we were to have him because he was one of the best. My only regret is that I didn't have him as my doctor earlier in the pregnancy. Wish all doctors could follow him around for a while and take notes. He's a true healer.

We had a high risk pregnancy and were referred to Dr. Draper. He immediately took personal ownership of our case, handled all the little details (making sure the right appointmens were made), put us completely at ease, and spent as much time with us as needed. He was extremely caring and sensitive. We could not have asked for a steadier hand or a more skilled physician during the delivery, when some scary complications came up. I felt as safe as could be, considering the situation. His manner was very reassuring and he saved mom and baby. He was quick and calm.Once things were under control after the delivery, Dr. Draper went out of his way to be sensitive to our concerns for the baby and to make sure mom and dad felt taken care of as well. My recovery went smoother and quicker than any delivery with other children--despite the difficult delivery. I totally credit Dr. Draper. The nurses called him an artist and told us we were lucky to have him, and that he was who the they requested… when they needed to deliver their own babies. He is an amazing physician and a rare find among OB's (or any doctor, for that matter.) He is kind, effecient, and thorough. I wish I never had to see anyone else. It's too bad he doesn't do family medicine. I'd have my whole family seeing him :).

I actually told my husband, very seriously that we can not move out of state until we are done having our family. I wont leave Dr. Draper. lol But I do mean it. Having him as our Dr has been a wonderful blessing and comfort to me.

Dr. Draper was my OB for my first child and now that I'm expecting my second there is no question in my mind that he will continue to be my OB. He and his staff are amazing..they are professional and take the time to make you feel at ease. Excellent practice that comes highly recommended by me.
